Clint Newton is a very combative leader of the RLPA and doesn’t seem to consider compromise. The tough guy image is fine for a forward in the game, not sure it is needed as a leader in a professional sense.

The last thing we need is another internal war.

Roy Masters article suggests Club CEOs are doing their jobs and demanding transparency on NRL financials.

Then you got secondary nsw clubs like the bears and Newtown voting in their interests to avoid a national reserve grade competition.

It’s almost like all my rants about Sydney centric decision making always being the Achilles heal on rugby league are 100% spot on.

What a shit show
You think it’s only Sydney clubs that are acting In their own interest and holding the game back ?

if that were true they would never have looked beyond Sydney for expansion
I used to follow Sher&Lil a fair bit when I had social media.

She was a huge Toronto Wolfpack fan before SL f**ked them up the arse and booted them out.
Typical English rugby league

ottowa and New York were to follow

but the boss of super league did a review and found having a team in Toronto added nothing to super league

they literally just allowed toulouse to get relegated for a club from a suburb in Wigan

the only hope for rugby league is Australia there will be little contribution from England except players who come here and get developed

Broncos and Raiders had too many stars though, remember the rabble made up of ARL players who turned out for Origin in 95?

So what?! I rember the ARL Final series in 1997, and its Grand Final as just about every game was quality. Who remembers the great "quality" of the 1997 SL Finals series by comparison? Only main game people can remember from SL 1997 was the 100 minute+ game. They sure as heck don't talk about how good ut was to include NZ in an inter-state series like SL did.

Yes, but how much of that is for public consumption? Union leaders will always sound bloshie in public statements as they do not want to appear to be pushovers. The art is what is said "behind closed doors", which is something we are not privy to.

The highlight of super league was Michael O’Connor getting busted going through a window to sign players from some team

what a way to forever ruin your rugby league legacy

and of course they delivered on their promises of bringing rugby league to China

That is my take on him too, This isn't the 1st CBA stalemate but NHL and NBA missed games. Hopefully the players give a bit so it doesn't go down that path here

Yes I do think it is the Sydney clubs hold the game back.

The only reason they approved expansion in the first place was to bleed the new queensland teams for money to prop up themselves and avoid bankruptcy.

The whole genesis for super league was a response to Sydney clubs and nsw dominated ARL making shit decisions at the expense of interstate clubs, particularly the broncos.

The reason we don’t have an NRL with the governance framework to actually needed to dictate to the clubs - is cause the Sydney clubs and NSWRL won’t agree to it. Which is insanity.

Can’t have a national reserves comp cause the Newtown, North Sydney, Mounties and Illawarra don’t want it? The whole system is stuffed. How do these 4 clubs get voting rights in how the national competition functions? It’s absurd.

We also have an NRL attempting to hoodwink QRL, NSWRL, all clubs and players by steath and undermine the bizarre governance framework in place. Rather than engage properly with its key stakeholders.

So yeah, I’m pretty sure it’s the Sydney clubs both the ones in NRL and those in NSWRL that holding rugby league back in this country, rather than the Melbourne, Brisbane and North Queenslands in the comp.

He`s the boofhead who a couple of years ago was questioning the NRL`s finances and when questioned it was revealed he hadn`t even read them.
There`s far too many ex-players in our game who are out of their depth in important roles. I couldn`t believe when St. George gave Craig Young an important role in the club. Absolute legend but a dinosaur that shouldn`t be anywhere near running an organisation operating in the 21st century digital age. Thankfully got the sack after committing a typical dunderhead blunder.

To run a NRLW team
Eh? They started off with $13 mill 17-19. that’s now crept up to $15mill and now they want $16-16.5million. Not to mention the ten clubs with nrlw teams have already been guaranteed an extra $1.2million!
That’s a lot of gain to pay for an nrlw team lol

Is that how it works with local Aussie Rules?(genuine question)

They just register the bare minimum of players and that's one club? So there is no age based grades of footy organised by the one club?
Amateur clubs in most sports operate numerous teams at different age groups and often for both genders, I’m not sure what your question is?

the rlpa boss going to the World Cup really isn’t helping getting a deal done when the arlc bosses stopped their own trips to get it done
You think that’s why they haven’t gone? More like they can’t be arsed. Pretty sure it doesn’t need both the ceo and chairman here. Is there no other commissioners left Working?

Lmao

they were taking qld players before expanding

it’s the exact reason brisbane were added so qld could keep its players

and they had mini casinos backing them

nice conspiracy theory though

Last time Beta PVL talked this tough publicly in negotiations was with Foxtel and Nine.

So I’d say that puts the clubs and players in the box seat
Come on, he really showed the nsw govt. and let’s not forget his victory over nswrl. Every faith he won’t f**k this up lol.
