it would be very difficult for it to happen...

but it would be awesome if it did... Manning is born and bred NO... would be a great story.

I can't believe people are even considering the possibility that NO won't re-sign Drew Brees. They'll throw the cheque book at him to keep him

I don't think people are considering it.

More of a scenario than anything realistic.

Most likely option is Redskins or perhaps the Vikings.

Manning could make sense for RedskinsGood piece on why this WOULD make sense for Redskins.

Yeah it makes sense. Keep Crossman get Manning and use pick 1 for a WR or something. A lot will depend on other trades they pick up etc. Miami or Jacksonville seem better picks though.

Both have more complete rosters just lack a quality QB even 2 years of Manning will improve the whole offence & make it eaaier for the next QB to step in.

I still think the Seahawks are a chance. A good draft and Manning would have them as contenders right away.

Denver would be a good option for Manning as he would have a fair team to work with but there is no way Elway and Bowlen open up the cheque book for Manning.

Skins will get him if he leaves Indy.

Speaking as a Jets supporter, the team needs to do something to sort out the mess in that locker room at the moment. There are too many de-stabilising figures making waves. Santonio Holmes is as good a place to start as any. Wherever he has been he has caused trouble. To have him with a Captains C on his shirt was just f**king laughable.

However, not throwing to a captain in a whole game of football in their last game of the season also spoke volumes of Sanchez's ability with the ball. The Jets ran when they should have passed and passed when there were no passes on in that last game. It was a shambles. I'm not sure their offensive co-ordinators even know how to run an offence - they didn't even run any slant routes in the game to involve their wides as receiving options. f**king pathetic. As for their trading and giving up of draft picks for players past their best, the less said about that the better.

Going for Manning when he is past his best and likely to break down with injury is the sort of shit the Jets seem to excel at. Watch them do it, whilst trading future draft picks, then watch Manning stay off the field injured and the Jets get no benefit from him.

Then when the Jets have spent three years at the foot of the AFC East and gotten themselves some draft picks back, watch them trade them for some other big name with a small future and hit the repeat button.

Oh and in the meantime the Miami Dolphins will take over from the Patriots when Brady retires as the gun team in the AFC East until the Pats can get themselves another gun QB and resume business as normal.

The main question to come out of all this, is "Why did I choose to be a Jets fan, when my family in New York are Giants fans and the Giants play in Red, White and Blue?"

I need my f**king head read. Personally I blame the Philly Eagles. One of my best mates is a Philly fan and I didnt want to pick a team that rivalled them - so I went for the Jets. I am so f**king dumb.

Trade him to redskins for a 1st and 3rd and a conditional 2013 pick, pick up luck and trent richardson in
The first round, and fill some holes in FA and the rest of the draft

Well Peyton is going to be leaving - all signs point to as much - good luck in the Peyton lottery to the Jets and Reskins. I would have been 1000% certain Jets had no chance as little as a week or so ago. Now, no team is ruled out as Irsay has all but announced his intention.

i still think they should go the redskins route, it gives them 2 1st rounders in the top 5 -6? they pick up the best QB to come out of College since maybe Peyton.

If they go with richardson at 5 - 6 they get the best RB since Peterson out of college, if they can have a good FA, re sign Wayne and a few others, there is a chance they could become contenders right away.

The Colts were at their best with Peyton also Edge.... since Edge left they had no Running game

Lambretta is a Roosters fan too - double frustration. Assuming you're a NSW Blues fan too? Hat-trick of frustration that must ensure you're smoking a pack a day to cope

Jokes aside, good post.

1. Santonio Holmes as a captain was laughable. Tomlinson was on one of the many ESPN shows I watch recently and said the current situation at the Jets is as bad as he has seen. Tough time for Jets. It was always on the cards with Ryan's style of coaching and man management.

2. Manning can instantly upgrade your position if he is fit. It would benefit your team and in turn improve Sanchez who would sit and learn form a Hall of Famer. The more I hear though, the more I read - I am leaning to him not even making back on the field.

3. As for Giants vs Jets dillemma - if my mate was a Philly fan and I was in your situation, the Giants is my instant pick in that division if only for that game each season!

4. Be thankful you're not a Cleveland Browns fan ;-)

I think McCoy and the entire browns offense will benefit from the childress hire
say what you will about him as a head coach, but he's a very handy OC

Here is one.

What about the 49er's.

With that defense...and the weapons there...worth some thought.

I ultimately think the Redskins get him.

They were discussing it on NFL network today about where he ends up and they had the Seahawks and Cardinals in the mix. No way he goes to either of those teams imo. He's more likely to end up at New Orleans lol.

I think the pick of the teams are Redskins, Dolphins, Jets, 49ers. They are the 4 I'd be choosing from. ALL have good defensive structures as a base. All have some offensive talent.

IMO Its the Dolphins or 49er's if I'm Peyton.

Another curveball...what about the Texans..haha...questions over Schaub's long term health and coming off contract soon. What Peyton wouldn't give to have that defense behind him, Foster in the backfield & Andre Johnson to throw too....AND...playing the Colts TWICE a year....

The niners with a fit P.Manning and that D, are probably the best team in the NFL
I dont think they even get in the race though, A.Smith worked out quite well for them in year 1, i think Harbough will back himself to get that extra yard out of him in year 2

I dont think the cards are willing to give up on Kolb yet. They should be but they are too heavily invested in him after one year.

Niners. Interesting...Peyton will play for less with a competitive team that allows him a chance to win and win now.

nah i reckon Smith will stay on in Saf Fran. wont be the move they make.

wouldn't surprise me if they went all out in FA for Vincent Jackson though. they need more weapons in the receiving core.

id say the front runners are the skins, the dolphins, the jets and the Vikings.

Good call on Dolphins. Growing trend there. My rankings are as yours RCB:

1. Washington - Snyder is there and he would LOVE to see #18 MANNING on a Skins jersey.
2. Miami - Obvious need, Dolphins shopping for QB.
3. NY Jets - I just can't see this happening but definitely a possibility. I'd still be shocked.
4. Minnesota - Short term answer at QB a recent franchise trend (Moon, Cunningham, Favre).

I could flip the bottom two.

well...

with Miami, theyve signed whats his face from the packers at head coach. Matt Flynn would be available..he is young and dosn't look too bad TBH.
They could go that route

Peyton's a 100 years old and no Farve...

20 odd million to keep him at colts , I'd piss him off too

Jets O line was shizenhausen, and gave no time for sanchez to look and throw,
Sparano will straighten them out and at least chalk up a few plays for the team to follow
Straighten out the trouble makers likes Holmes and they are back to an AFC title game
and Ryan can trash talk all he wants...

Quite possible. Matt Flynn is a starter somewhere in 2012/13.

Peyton Manning is a better QB than Brett Favre was.
