PF 2 vs Dogs

They were pretty shit against Manly, so it's really only the first half against the Storm and potentially a match against us.

Certainly not what you would call a quality grand final side.

Did you watch your game against the Roosters? If you make all those errors you will lose, only reason you guys won that match was because the Roosters made more errors! The quality was shocking, only the close scoreline kept it interesting!

Yes - everyone seems to have an off day when they play us. Coincidence?? I think not. It is the no frills, low mistake, hard hitting style of play that seems to put teams off their game.

I'm not saying that at all... You guys seem to be talking down our win against Manly but talking up your win against the Roosters!! Little perspective is needed.

The last 8 rounds of the season they were awful. Up until then they looked good, but to me it just doesn't seem like a grand final worthy side.

If they reversed the season and the form from the first half was what led them into the finals, I would have no issue and would probably want then to win the grand final if my team didn't make it.

But for mine, Souths are the team who have had the best season up until now. Panthers second and Roosters third, but mostly due to an average finals campaign so far.

Bulldogs had a great half against Storm. But Storm were pretty horrible. Had they faced Roosters, Souths or Cowboys they would have been touched up.

Mate they were the best team in the comp for a good chunk of the season. Origin came along. Along with a huge injury toll. The wheels fell off. I mean at one stage we had something like 11-13 out. I don't mean fringe nuffies either. Like literally I recall having Perrett, Morris, Stanley, Reynolds, Hodkinson, Tolman, Pritchard, Eastwood, Kasiano, Klemmer, Mbye out... Most of them missed at least 4-6 weeks. Some a lot longer. Hodkinson is the only one I think that infact has missed less then 4 games this year in that list. I know Stanley, Morris, Reynolds, Pritchard, Kasiano, Klemmer, Mbye all missed at least 6 +

The poor form at the end of the season in my opinion had a lot to do with Reynolds, Morris, Perrett out. The defense that was produced to cover Morris was a HUGE drop of standard. Since his return it's no suprise to see our defense is much better.

That said, I don't by into the they don't deserve to be there line. This applies to any team not just the Dogs. If you are good enough to eliminate teams and make it there then you deserve it. They say for a reason it's a different ball game come finals. Players fire up, coaches have plans, other strategies may come into place etc. The Dogs have now eliminated arguable the two most dominate teams of the past 10 years in the Storm and Manly. They have done this in Melbourne aswell. They have their fair share of injuries still and have yet eliminated more teams then any other remaining team. Broncos eliminated by Cowboys, Cowboys eliminated by Roosters. Dogs eliminated Manly, Storm. I think if they make the grand final they are very much so entitled to it.

Roosters made the same amount of errors. Both teams were terrible in the first half. Second half was great from both sides.
Dogs have only played half a game of footy for their last 8 or so starts.
Can't wait till sat night. Best of luck to the dogs, you'll need it.

Theres the Des factor as well.
Obviously Robinson and Maguire are great young coaches but the tell be question marks on them until they have weaker squads or move clubs and succeed.

With the Bellamy era seemingly over I see Des and Cleary as the two premiere coaches in the game. Both have built two successful sides from the ground up and seem to be the more tactically agile coaches.

I don't think this will be the last big game clash we'll see between the two clubs in the next 5 years.

I'm most interested to see if Cleary goes to try and contain the Dogs fat pack or move them around the edges and tire them out. This is why it'll be a great clash. We may not be the best rosters but we are two clubs that play different footy. The vast majority of games are who will do the same thing better. This one will be a great clash on a number of levels. Can't wait.

This part I agree with. I actually like it too. I have nothing against the Panthers. Still not fond of Soward from his milking and costing the Dogs the minor prem in 2009. Though have quiet a few players I like and enjoy watching.

Des is yet to get a fullback/replacement for Barba. We are obviously going to secure someone quiet substantial seeing we pulled out of Fifita deal. Kids like Jackson, Klemmer, Lloyd coming through show a bright future behind an alreayd amazing pack.

Panthers are building a awesome backline, halves are a bit old and will come down to who replaces them in the coming years if they maintain it. Their pack has some great goers and with the likes of McKendry, Plum, Sega, Manu, Docker, Elijah etc they should be a force for years to come.

Let's hope they can play two 80 minute games then hey! If this is the case and they are fighting for the Grand Final imagine what they can do with 80 minute displays!

First game I've watched live for six weeks after being in UK for a holiday with my son so well done to the Bunnies who will play winner of our game tomorrow night. No point talking about next week unless we win tomorrow but boy the Bunnies are formidable opponents for either us of the Dogs. This isn't the thread I know, but a couple of points out of tonight's game. How that Sam Moa stayed on the field and was not sent off is beyond me it was a deliberate high shot if ever you seen one. Michael Jennings showed yet again he is nothing in a hard fought contest as he only ever shines in easy victories. Lastly, I hope regardless of the outcome of tomorrow night Issac Luke doesn't get rubbed out of the GF. The match review committee has been an absolute joke and it may as well continue. He probably deserves a week at the very least for the dangerous throw but I would rather he be there. Great little footy player and if we are in the GF I hope he is there too. Fingers and toes crossed for tomorrow night guys. Looking forward to it with no expectations. Hope it is a great contest and we are in it up to our ears.

Have to disagree here, if we managed to make the final I would certainly hope Isaac Luke is out. He is a big part of their attack and he would be the sole player absent for them compared to many more from us so it's not like they would be disadvantaged to anyway near the degree we already are, in a way making it fairer.

Secondly Isaac deserves to get suspended, what he did was wrong and must be discouraged if we are to minimise the risk of neck injuries to players. He deserves at least a week and the NRL can't be seen to give up on its standards post McKinnon incident just because its a big game.

Jennings is a lambourghini. Take him out on a Sunday when the sun is shining and the birds are chirpy but youre not going to take him for a slug up the M4 Monday morning.

Luke deserves suspension so I hope he gets it. I think he has been flat most of the year and was average last night. If we were to play them I'd be just as worried about Api at this point.

Whether we make it or not next week, Isaac Luke deserves to be suspended for that tackle. It was dangerous and there is no place for it in the game, players are well aware of that.

Good luck, Penrith!

I'm firmly on the Panthers' bandwagon - I've always liked the Panthers, and the footy you play under Cleary is great to watch. And unlike many others, I love watching Soward play.

Also, f**k the Bulldogs.

Up the Mighty Panthers!!!

If we can survive the early onslaught from the dogs and hang in there,we can grind them down and win the match.
Hoping for a big game from Idris tonight.
