Supremely confident in a Panthers win over the Bulldogs on Saturday.

Penrith to play Souths in the Grand Final.

The telling point will be that Dogs will be better for the experience.

The Dogs players will be feeling privileged to have played against a team such as this current Panthers squad after fulltime when they are lamenting their loss.

It's best to have played against, and to be defeated by such a quality outfit such as ours in this era of our sport, than not to have played at all.

Dogs lucky just to have made it this far.

Must be kind to Kennels month.

This should be fun to revisit

is mister spoon better because thats all those blokes achieved.Sam williams could not make the dragons team a reserve grader on a good day

If you think Milford or Cornish are to blame for that well say no more.

Raiders line up is a mess. Worst roster in the comp SURE.

Would John make their halves? No.

I think he'd make Storm, Sharks and Raiders or be in a tussle for first grade at least.
Question, who do you guys play at halfback when Hodko, T-Rex, Jackson and Mbye are all out? I assume its be Templeman or something? Yeah so that's the effect John being injured has had on our team.

On another note, it's great to see Penrith fans so confident. I know I've felt more confident that they'll do the business since the Warriors game. Probably the first time since 2004.

After the Easts game,we know now that we can match it with the best. That game was our litmus test and we came through.

So for this game and leading up to it,I'm having a mindset that I know we will win it,as I'm not approaching this all cautious and careful like...to me,this is not my definition of enjoying my football.

We win on Sat,and I hope the Dogs fans will be on our side.

If we don't win,I'll be on the Dogs side as they will be the errm,"under Dogs"

Viking is being a pretty good sport. It's alright to have a bit of banter with the enemy before a big game. He is certainly more eloquent than the usual trolls.

Good luck Saturday Viking, nah not really. May you cry yourself to sleep sucking your thumb. :)

Don't see where all the confidence comes from. Beating them twice already perversely makes me less confident. They'll be up for it.

I heard an interview with moylan on sunday (Hawkesbury fm). Things I took from it:
- sounded very relaxed
- said he rarely gets nervous,
- said he didnt really watch the dogs - manly clash. only just caught the end
- commented how happy he is at penrith

deadset love watching this kid. So calm and cool under pressure whilst gliding across the park. Hope he continues to build for years to come
Whilst on the hill at manly, at least 10 manly fans seperately commented to me how they admired moylan and mansour - I agreed of course ;)

Exactly. John's record last year was great 9/16 in a very average team. Played test this year. I am a fan of his but just him out isn't so bad. IF we had any of Wallace, Peachey or Cartwright playing

He is a raiders fan I think.

Going to the game on Saturday im 50/50 on whether we will win or not, should be a tight one though.

Only one crying will be you and your little panthers fans on here after the Dogs steam role your weak forward pack with their very impressive pack and belt you 13+.

As for the Lafai try, we all know it was a try. Hell the NRL came out and admitted the ref screwed up!

News to me. This has happened twice this season to my knowledge.

1. Melbourne vs StGeorge, when a play the ball was allowed after the full time siren.

2. Brisbane vs St George when Gillett was sin binned following being incorrectly called offside.

Please provide a link to the NRL admitting the ref screwed up in the last Bulldogs Panthers match. Your credibility rides on it.

When someone has been wrong a certain number of times, they should not be allowed to make predictions in these forums.

We had Hodkinson and Reynolds and Mbye out. Cook came in. No shame in saying it. Cook is shit. Just like Isaac John.

Steve Clark will adjudicate the season?s biggest game after making the wrong call

  • JOSH MASSOUD
  • THE DAILY TELEGRAPH
  • AUGUST 06, 2014 12:00AM

THE NRL?s video referees department perfected the art of failing upwards, appointing Steve Clark to adjudicate the season?s biggest game after his Tim Lafai stuff-up last weekend.

Under pressure to remain on duty after he and former Tigers utility Ben Galea inexplicably overturned the on-field referral and ruled Lafai had lost control of the ball, Clark was instead rewarded with the plum gig at Friday night?s top-of-the-table blockbuster between Souths and Manly at the SCG

Clark?s elevation comes after his boss, Tony Archer, this week conceded the Lafai call was wrong.

It also comes after another member of staff, a technician, stormed out of the video referees box and was overheard loudly criticising Clark in a common area lounge on level three of ANZ Stadium.

A witness in the lounge told The Daily Telegraph the technician was yelling into a telephone at halftime, just 10 minutes after the Lafai decision.

?He was wearing an NRL shirt and he was absolutely filthy,? the witness said.

?He was having a very animated conversation on the telephone at halftime, saying ?I can?t believe Clarky made that call. I can?t go back in there.

On Tuesday the NRL confirmed it was looking into the incident, but said the technician involved was a contractor.

Clark has also been rostered on for another free-to-air fixture: Sunday?s Dragons-Panthers clash at WIN Stadium.

On the same afternoon, Galea will be in Auckland for the Warriors and Sharks showdown.

The NRL has confirmed that if there was any disagreement between the ex-player and Clark, the casting vote would have gone to Galea.

Archer on Tuesday night revealed only two video referees have been dropped this season, and that he was trying to operate with a smaller pool to achieve more consistency.

?I have said that I don?t believe there was sufficient evidence to overturn the Lafai decision,? Archer said.

?But Steven Clark remains one of our most experienced referees and is the right person for such an important game.

?He was in the video referees box the following night for the Dragons v Roosters match and I was very comfortable with his performance.?

Furious over the Lafai call, Bulldogs officials were further exasperated when they learned of Clark?s fortunes.

Their confusion was compounded when Clark awarded Rooster Aidan Guerra a try on Saturday, despite appearing to have less control of the ball than Lafai.

Canterbury coach Des Hasler spoke with Archer over the weekend, and has been attempting to lock down a face-to-face meeting before the team travels to Brisbane tomorrow.

But Bulldogs CEO Raelene Castle wants the debacle to trigger more change, and has been speaking to her predecessor ? NRL football boss Todd Greenberg ? about fast-tracking a ?bunker? system for next season.

Castle is adamant that every match of the year should be overseen by the same video referee to achieve consistency.

With two video referees needed for each match at present, there are concerns the NRL doesn?t have enough trained bodies to enforce changes when mistakes are made.

The ?bunker? proposal has been talked about for years, but a concept involving just one person adjudicating every game has never been raised.

It is yet to be formally discussed at a CEOs conference, but Greenberg is believed to be receptive to Castle?s idea.

Lol its all good, I am quietly confident myself. Though the main thing I agree with is the fact whoever wins this will have my vote for the Final.

Anyone but the bloody roosters.
