When do we drop Phil Hughes from the test side

Every year since Warnes retirment their has been Media speculation that Australia will go in with 4 quicks at the Gabba and every time they have played a Spinner.

Talk this morning that Hilfenhaus will be the 12th man, which I think is crazy.

Which quick won't get picked? You'd think Siddle / Hilfy are certainties, and based on form I'd have to go with Starc over Pattinson/Cummins.

Which form are you basing Starc off? T20 is ribbish and Pattinson has both a better test record AND a better FC recent record as well. I like Starc but Pattinson is a dead certainty to play.

I'm willing to bet Starc will get picked and it will have nothing to do with his form rather than which arm he bowls with

they wont play pattinson in back to back tests (adelaide and perth - 3 day turnarond) So he has to play in Brisbane for mine

For variation on a better batting deck, they will play Starc and rest Pattinson in Adelaide

I reckon ill be on the money

Fine play him ahead of Hilfehaus. Basically I look at it like this:

Swing bowlers- Hilfenhaus & Starc

Seam Bowlers- Pattinson, Siddle, Cummins, Nathan Coulter-Nile

Spinner- Nathan Lyon OR Jon Holland (inj.)

Basically you pick one of the top group, 2 of the 2nd and one of the last.

Cowan sucks hard. Needs to be dropped after he fails in the 1st test and replaced by Hughes for the 2nd. Cowan averages sub 30 at Test level. Go away you spud.

Still averages more than Hughes in the same time frame...lets not forget Hughes still can't stop nicking to 2nd slip!:lol:

Yet averages just 39 in the shield this year maybe once he gets that average back up over 50 for a decent period of time then he can get a recall. He has all ways had a strong limited overs average, when he starts hitting hundreds in the shield then we should take notice.

Oh yay...I know you are beyond stupid...but try and see past the dumbness and realise that 50 over cricket is very different and sides don't have 2-3 slips in for 30+ overs...you are lucky to have a slip for 10 overs in a one day match.
