Innings totals in the first 3 tests of the India v England series: 521, 406, 413, 523,

And 23 wickets for 1008 runs in 5 days of cricket in the 4th Test.

Roads.

Two teams with a wealth of experience in the batting department and in England's case 3 players in good form with the others pitching in, both teams playing well against spin but still being undone by it.

Then there's us, one experienced player who also happens to be the only in great form, 1 keeps getting starts then hitting out, one keeps running himself out and isnt in form, one keeps running others out, a keeper struggle to catch spinners bowling, a vice captain out of form, at least either one debutant or a solid player coming in... With Lyon who is an honest toiler...

Keep looking into stats and not the actual story BM.

A drinking game based on the number of partners Hughes runs out would probably be fatal.

This would go good as desktop wallpaper:

I've currently got Miranda Kerr in a bikini there. Debating whether to replace that with the above.

HUGHES IS A CHAMPION!!!....what an innings, and have a look at the wagon wheel!!...runs all round it!....hughes could end up being one freaky batsman in a couple of years!!...and gun innings by bailey, absolutely brilliant!!...i must admit when he first got picked for ODI and t20, i was disgusted with the selectors, but now im with him all the way!!

Mong?

Lol clearly some LU troll trying to impersonate me.

I expect Hughes to be in the T20 Aussie team aswell.

If by the end of the summer and in India he's firing in all 3 forms you'll see him start being turned into Clarkes heir.

I don't think he is captain material. Captain's think about the team first, themselves second. They can also read plays including running between wickets... You don't see Clarke running out his partners every game or simply ball watching and not paying attention to what's happening down the other end.

Hughes just needs to worry about his own game and learn how to run. Burdening him with captaincy spells dark times for Australian cricket and he'll be crying during an interview like another Hughes when failure has taken the most of him.

Although I agree with much of what you say, I'm a little confused. Who exactly did Hughes run out last night? You know, given that Khawaja only has himself to blame for that one ...

Tried to with Bailey multiple times, mustn't like him or something.

Half the spastics on here blame Hughes for Khawajas run out.

There was 2 incidents. One was Hughes fault one wasn't. The one where Bailey cut to backward point and then ran and then stopped wasn't Hughes fault at all.

If he gets set I reckon he'll be even better in Adelaide. His new home ground with those super short boundaries square, he'll have a great day once hes in.

Hes running bwteen the wickets is terrible though, but aslong as he does his job and hits 100s i dont care

Oh absolutely his running between wickets is awful and he nearly caused about 50 run outs last night. However, he was absolutely 100% guilt-free re: the Khawaja run-out.

TBH, the running between wickets issue seems to be endemic in the side atm. It's certainly not restricted to Hughes.

Averaging a paltry 29.75 in ODI Cricket

How long till he is rested/rotated/dropped?

He looks tired. The heavy schedule of actually going to work seems to be hampering him.
