51 today from PJH. Another good dig. Knocking hard on the front door of the Australian team.

Phil Hughes, who last week became the first Australian man to score a double century in a top tier 50 over match, has been overlooked again.

Rod Marsh said he could count himself unlucky, as could Clint McKay and left-arm spinner Xavier Doherty.

“We would have loved to pick Phillip but it’s quite difficult to find the spot for him with a strong batting line-up,” Marsh said.

The 14-man Australian ODI squad for the Tour of Zimbabwe is:

Michael Clarke (c), George Bailey (vc), Ben Cutting, James Faulkner, Aaron Finch, Brad Haddin, Mitchell Johnson, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Kane Richardson, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Shane Watson

Interesting Lyon over Doherty

If he pulls up well over the Indian test sereis, Id like to see Rhino in the ODI world cup squad

I reckon BigShow will do the majority of the spin bowling on tour.

Kane Richardson is back. Let's hope he can finish a spell this time round.

BM must be in meltdown mode!

Richardson does look to have the goods as long as he keeps away from the middle.

Meh. Don't care about the ODI team.

What I do care about is PH has been made captain of the Australia A team for their next game. They would not be wasting a precious international leadership position for someone who had no future at the top level. They clearly see him as a big of our test teams future.

Wasn't Mattew wade the previous captain and prior to that Eddie Cowan last year. One day is arguably Hughes best format hard to see him cracking the test side to at least next summer, after Rogers an co retire even then he will be competing with the likes of silk etc.
