So Gallen's appeal is tomorrow, which means this germ will probably be writing more unbalanced rubbish blaming smith, making out Gallen is a victim and smith should be sacked if they don't fold on his penalty at the appeal. Predictable old turd.

I find him great company. A really decent bloke, relaxed, and anything but the toffy banker i first feared the game was getting.

It was a great night out with a smart guy who has truly settled into his role.

Our game is in good hands.

Highlight II

Getting to know more about nrl boss dave smith at the footy on friday night. Good man, good operator and good plans.

Surely, time is running out for Smith.

This game needs a leader who has a feel for the code, the players and the fans.

Not an old banker who hides behind his spin doctors, keeps fans and club members in the dark and selectively leaks information rather than face proper questioning.

Long-time broadcaster and rugby league caller ray hadley has called for grant to stand down as chairman of the *independent commission.

Smith should go too, unless he fixes the paul gallen mess and hands down a more appropriate penalty.

This site must be full of angry agitated neurotic beat me downs.

When you sign up to this site, you're supposed to get a welcome pack mailed out to you, which includes a tin foil hat. Most of us chuck out that piece of crap, but some keep it and wear them with pride...

The Daily Telegraph can reveal the integrity unit was made aware on May 28 of rising star Kirisome Auva’a pleading guilty to charges of recklessly causing injury and assault in a violent attack that left his ex-girlfriend with cuts and bruises.

...

The NRL did nothing, claiming in a statement: “In the case of players who are charged by the police, it is appropriate to wait for any court proceedings to be completed before determining whether any further action is required.”

...

The Rabbitohs will appear before the integrity unit today after the lack of action on the case was highlighted in yesterday’s Daily Telegraph.

It was not a secret, the rabbitohs made a public statement of his plea on the day he made it!

The case was adjourned, which, like the rabbitohs statement on the day says, means it was still an open legal proceeding and therefore the NRL's statement that they will only act once the court proceedings are completed is entirely consistent.

Rothfield claiming credit trying to make out like his story has pressured the NRL into acting is absolute rubbish, they were always going to once the court proceedings were completed, which only happened on Friday, three days ago!

His reporting on this is absolutely disgraceful and misleading and is solely motivated by his relationship with Gallen and his grievances over what he believes to be an unfair penalty.

Rabbitohs Statement Regarding Kirisome Auva’a

Rabbitohs Media Release

Wed 28th May, 04:56PM

On 18 January 2014, the South Sydney Rabbitohs reported an alleged incident involving player Kirisome Auva’a to the NRL’s Integrity Unit. The incident is alleged to have occurred in January this year and has resulted in charges of Recklessly Cause Injury and Criminal Damage (Intent Damage/Destroy) being laid against Auva'a.

The player first informed the Club of the incident on 18 January 2014. The player was stood down from his duties at the time and a fine was issued to him.

Auva’a pleaded guilty to the charges in Melbourne today. The matter has been adjourned until November this year, with the Magistrate recommending that Auva’a attends a weekly change in behaviour course, as well as supporting and working with the White Ribbon campaign.

Both Auva’a and the Rabbitohs fully support the recommendations of the Magistrate and will follow her instructions.

As this matter is still before the courts, the Rabbitohs cannot, and will not, make any further comment at this time.

i read that

he's a dope

he's just upset about Gallen

He's trying to insinuate there was some sort of secret coverup despite his plea being public knowledge on the day he made it. The fact it remained, until last Friday, an open legal proceeding was also public knowledge. Like his reporting on his gal pal, it is deliberately misleading. All these idiots who can't think for themselves and see through his agenda are tomorrow going to be whinging about an NRL coverup.

a germ that never complained once about Isaac Gordon's delayed suspension and it was bugger all games too

Yep, his agenda is completely transparent for anyone with half a brain and once upon a time there is no way that story would have passed the editors desk, no standards anymore, just deliberately misleading half truths and click bait.
