FANS OUT IN THE COLD

THOUSANDS of fans face being locked out of Origins and NRL grand finals under plans to turn Allianz Stadium into Sydney’s premier sporting stadium.

NRL boss Dave Smith has backed the SCG Trust’s bid for a new 65,000-seater at Moore Park to rival Suncorp as Australia’s best rectangular stadium. Trouble is the new state-of-the-art venue will hold 20,000 fewer seats than ANZ Stadium.

The NRL is committed to playing grand finals and State of Origin at Homebush only until 2019, when the new Allianz complex is due to be completed.

“We will then consider the best stadium for big games post-2019,” said an NRL spokesperson. “We will take the game to wherever we can provide the best facilities for fans.”

How many kids does Gorman have? Why should it make any difference?
I hope both appointments were made on their merit of being the best person for the job but Rothfields archaic views show him as nothing but a slimy, factless chauvinist from a by-gone era.
