pretty sure they've already penned their articles about how fantastic the game was and submitted it to Rupert to see if he approves

The only qualification you need to work for Murdoch is an ability to accept unquestionably the company line, the ability to write what you are told even if you dont believe it,and the ability to suck editors c**k,also work for a criminal owner Achieve that you have a job for life

You forgot the ability to ignore any urge of humanity or decency.

Todd Greenberg has been NRL chief executive for 88 days.

Long enough for us to look back at what he has achieved and what he has actually done to clean up the mess left by his predecessor, Dave Smith.

And the short answer is nothing.
Sure we’ve had the Parramatta Eels salary cap crisis and the match fixing, all of which has been handled by Nick Weeks and his integrity unit.

All Greenberg has done is front up to the press conferences. He sure can talk the talk. Lots of spin but little substance.

Three months ago we all applauded his appointment because he had a football background. Yet little or nothing has changed.
The bunker has become a multi-million dollar disaster and the biggest waste of money in the game’s history.

The match-review committee is a joke.

The standard of refereeing is worse than ever before.
On Monday night at Shark Park, the game’s number one referee Gerard Sutton made the most embarrassing blunder of the season when he ruled Ben Barba had knocked on when the football went nearly a metre backwards. It almost changed the result of the game.

Yet refs boss Tony Archer told The Daily Telegraph on Tuesday: “Overall, I was very comfortable with his performance in a difficult game”

And then a couple of hours later Sutton was reappointed to handle Origin II
Then we had Wade Graham charged for a head high tackle on Johnathan Thurston.

We all agree, that while there was no malice or intent, it was still a Grade 1 high tackle.

So unless he can convince the judiciary otherwise, he misses out on an Origin debut for NSW, by far the highlight game of his career.
Yet at the same time we have another player, South Sydney forward Nathan Brown, who kicks an opponent on the groin and smashes another opponent with a late tackle and doesn’t even miss a club game.

Greenberg was hired as a “footy head” to fix this sort of anomaly.

For years we have been campaigning for grand finals and Origin games to be rated differently to regular club games at the judiciary.

That no player should miss a grand final or Origin game for a minor Grade 1 charge.

Even bring in a fine system or make them miss the following club game. Anything but rub them out of the biggest event on the rugby league calendar.

You don’t need 88 days to work out it’s a much fairer system.

Unless they are a fair dinkum NEWS LTD puppet (i.e. Gallop), we now know (if we didn't already) that beetroot cheeks simply takes the contrarian viewpoint to suck in click bait and rile up the 'simple' masses.

Actually I think Brian Canavan is being hired to handle football matters.

Wasn't the stadium deals with the State Govt involving Greenberg, and Grant?

I give anybody in such a position 12 months .Especially with Norman,Foran dramas ,Manly player/ gambling allegations,Parramatta debacle, clearing debts of West Tigers and new admin there, ongoing negotiations with Bruce Gordon and St George part ownership, ongoing investigations into sale of Titans and Knights,RLPA dealings under the new agreement due to be signed.
ATM for me the jury is out on Greenberg.

IMO what needs to change is the Match Revue Panel which I agree is a joke, and their inconsistent decisions some plain pathetic.
Refs to be changed if they don't perform, but coaches still to shut the F up,sound sour grapes.

Like someone else says give Greenberg a year, but little will be done as imo he's in the pockets of the clubs.
The folly of forcing Dave Smith out will come back to haunt the AFL commission imo.

Funny thing is whilst the media seemed to celebrate Greenburg's appointment, I sat back and wondered why? He was in charge of football when the awful shoulder charge rubbish was brought it, was overseeing referees and the MRC. Issues that he was responsible for beforehand, and still haven't been resolved.

....and absolutely no discussion at all now of the big picture issues, expanding the teams, expanding the game, expanding revenue sources, etc, etc.

Its pathetic how the media not only undermine the game at every turn, but also control the agenda.

Until we have a Commission brave enough to appoint a CEO who has the capacity, authority and on going support to take them on, nothing will change.

FREE blue wigs, free blue T-shirts and $30 tickets. This is the NRL plan — and best ticket deal in State of Origin history — to turn ANZ Stadium blue for the game three dead rubber on July 13.

The NRL has set up an emergency working group to devise strategies to fill the stadium in the wake of the Blues disastrous second loss of the series at Suncorp Stadium.

Under the deal anyone buying a ticket for the Blatchey’s Blues sections of the stadium — with the Blues most fanatical supporters — will be offered a second ticket for just $30.

It will flood the market with bargain priced tickets and run a campaign to “turn the stadium blue” to help NSW rebuild its Origin reputation.

The defeat in game two has left the NRL facing a $3 million black hole in funds which would otherwise be put back into the grassroots, junior and other parts of the game

Anyone buying a gold Blatchey’s ticket for $150 can to buy a second ticket for $30.

There will be no limit on the number of tickets purchased.

In an attempt to turn the Stadium blue, the NRL will also offer anyone purchasing tickets in the Blatchey’s Blues section a free wig and T-shirt.

The offer will also apply to those who have bought tickets in advance (how to redeem the offer will be sent out by the NRL early next week).

In addition, special ticket deals will be made to members of the “NRL family”, including junior volunteers, NSWRL junior clubs and sponsor groups.
There will also be offers to all SES members who worked to clean up so much of Sydney after the recent storms.

Customers of the game’s major sponsor Telstra will get a two-for-one offer.

It’s great to see the NRL being so proactive to ensure there won’t be 35,000 empty seats. It is hoped the game will attract a crowd of 70,000.

“Rugby League fans know there are only three Origin matches a year and they all matter,” said NRL CEO Todd Greenberg. “I think we will see NSW start their campaign for 2017 in the coming weeks — and it all starts with Origin 3. I hope NSW fans come out in force to support their team. The Blues need their fans more than ever before.”

Well I guess that tells Adelaide something.

Bloody newspapers and their pricks writing in them.

Hope you enjoy the game Adelaide, really, I couldn't give a toss and I don't know why anyone from that place would either, so why does their paper put it in their news from another state that has nothing at all to do with their game or their sport that they don't even play or watch? They couldn't care less like the writer doesn't, all it is is another way to kick rocks in the face of every RL fan.

Are the people in the newspaper industry geniusED?

Plus, is all news in the Adelaide paper, good news Parra? ;-)
