If there is more the Govt will give up, then why not take that from them as well? How desperate are they to make this happen?

There are negatives to deal with too… as you know as well as anyone else
What is the PNG Govt saying ,.. you know the ones who are running the bid and who are asking the Aust Govt for help to get them into the competition?

Do they care about the other Islands ?
Png govt obviously wants as many games in png as possible

the issue is what does albo want for his 60 mill

one game each in Tonga and samoa was mentioned by hill as a potential

A fifo team with 600 million in govt funding takes out most of the negatives

maybe travel is an issue but Perth would be way worse

Vlandys knew when he met with News ltd and they told him who he could and couldnt admit as team 18.
All you need to do is read the articles and instead of ignoring them just take what they say (90 percent of the time they are correct)

there has been a hundred articles about png. Pretty hard to ignore whose next

Six times Melbourne storm they will be fine

Maybe it never runs out

just because a cowboys or Perth fan made something up doesn’t mean it’s true

png are desperate

albo calls the shots

Why does Albo care about games being played in Tonga?

There will be a defined time that this is funded by the Govt …

storm is irrelevant… not govt money

Are you sure he knows that? He has stated repeatedly that they will be the powerhouse of the comp, funded not only by the Australian govt, but also all the mining companies, and that they will be creating hundreds of NRL players a year. He's too stupid to understand the negatives.

Money is money

All that matters is the amount

and png are getting six times what made the storm a force in afl central

and aid to png doesn’t stop nor might this

Tonga also to stop China hegemony

Racing NSW has just paid the Telegraph squillions to promote the Sydney Spring racing … there is just as much news about rhe “Big Dance “ as there is the Melb Cup on Saturday and todays paper …

I’m expecting there might be some favourable coverage of PNG ahead…

Until they are admitted of course ..then they will start shitcanning them like you… imagine all the stories they can write about this?

What’s he going to say ? they will be crap?

You know it's possible to oppose bad ideas yeah? It's possible to be an NRL fan and still believe this will be a disaster? It's not required to believe that everything will turn out perfect?

His posts in this thread are some of the dumbest things ever written on this forum.

News ltd money into the storm is the same money the feds are putting into png

aussie dollars

the only difference is the monarch had changed

with corporate sponsorship via mining companies, feds money and png govt support they going to be minted

Difference is after the money for the Storm finished they were a profit making org playing in a state of the art 30k stadium with multi millionaire owners, one of the biggest tv audiences in the NRL leading to Australian companies falling over themselves to sponsor them and a large active fanbase with the disposable income to spend big on memberships and merch. Can you honestly say any of those things are likely in ten years for a PNG club?

Maybe they can buy some pokie dens with the $600mill to keep them going post Govt money?

Only profitable because the grant is five million over the cap

without that they would be loss making today

the stadium is shared between soccer and rugby league

trying to argue 600 millon isn’t a game changer is stupid and pointless

find another angle

If you think News Ltd putting money into a football team is the same as taxpayers money you are deluded …

You didnt answer the question, will PNG likely have any of these things when the money runs out that have made the Storm viable long term:

30k state of art stadium
large tv audience leading to large sponsorship portfolio
large active cashed up fanbase
