PNG's back.

Tasmania is getting around 1 billion in govt funds for a stadium and the state govt will underwrite their losses for around ten years
PNG can say they paid for their own stadium. Tasmanians cannot.

The positive press the NRL will get from admitting a PNG team will have the AwFuL fans green with envy.

Cairns to Sydney flight time: 2h55m
Perth to Sydney flight time: 4h10m

They'll be smiling when they're not hauled up on a plane for 4h10m.

Smiles will disappear pretty quickly when they get back from Sydney and have an International flight for the home game in a 6-8 days, repeat for the whole season except byes. I know which I’d rather.

Warriors & Cowboys have pretty demanding travel schedules as would NZ2 & Perth if/when they happen but a PNG team based in Cairns would be the worst of the lot.

They won’t be flying cattle class and will get the express treatment through customs that rich people get now anytime they travel

those players will be amongst the most important people In that nation.

Downplay it all you like but it still doesn’t change the fact they’ll have the most demanding travel schedule of any team or potential team.

Luckily for PNG, Perth and NZ2 travel shouldn’t be a major consideration in the process anyway but it’s laughable to say PNG would have an easier time than Perth with travel.

I think the opposite

unlike other nrl players when they travel png players are going to be spoiled

and from the time they get to the airport till the time they leave the whole nation will be watching them

unlike Perth where they will be anonymous

Lol what airline do you think they will be flying, and how many business class seats do you think they have?

Here, I'll help you out. Unless they want to be travelling 10 hrs each way and stopping in Brisbane, this is what they'd be flying.

Lol travelling on the national airline of a 3rd world country is not being spoiled.

Do you actually think most players want to be swarmed by hundreds of people every time they leave their house?

Do you actually think most players like being stopped for photos when they are out doing their grocery shopping?

I wouldnt want to be the 'punching bag' player that every clubs supporters focus on when not winning. Online abuse is terrible but this could be much much worse.
