No chance

Just stop believing what internet trolls write on this forum

there’s a professional bid being put together which will have to be approved by the arlc

The same people (mostly) who are Anti png also said the dolphins would be a failure

if the alts had seen the actual bid proposal and were attacking that maybe they would have a point

they are just against it because
Wally you're the biggest troll on Australian sports social media. It's why you're so easy to find

I love this forum

originally I guessed 300 million figure as what the govt would tip into this bid

Certain people laughed and said it was no chance of happening

now the figure is actually double that they are still saying it won’t work

lol
You also bet me they’d be in before 2027. Remember that? Ready to concede yet?

Well said! Rugby League is all this old single man from Western Sydney has and he doesn't remotely have a clue what goes on on the field and especially in the background.
Just let him have some fun on here

You're using the janky, lets say influenced, post Super League NRL admission criteria findings. LOL.

No the "fact" that something on the other side of the country happened 30 years ago under completely different circumstances has no impact on the realities of today.

Firstly I never said it was the only impact, it's just one of roughly half a dozen, but the overall lack and dated nature of the corporate facilities, and the fact that there're no hospitality ticket options available at all, at Bruce stadium is a significant impact on the Raiders FC and sponsorship revenue. It is what it is, and you simply don't know what you're talking about if you think otherwise.

The current economic climate is a big factor at the moment as well. Canberra is a public service town with a relatively low corporate base to begin with, and when times get tough those opportunities restrict even further. Most of the larger companies here aren't the sort that need or want to advertise to punters at the footy anyway, which is another issue.
The article was posted on NRL.COM.

Are you suggesting it is incorrect?

If Bruce Stadium has such poor facilities and the demographics of Canberra are not conducive to supporting an NRL team then why persist with the Raiders?

Going by what you've written it would be better to close down the Raiders and give their licence to the Brisbane Tigers.

He’s more worried about his brumbies

he believes afl is more popular in Canberra than rugby league

The ACT Gov seems to care more about fumbleball than rugby league.

Questions need to be asked about the Raiders' viability. If Bruce Stadium never gets an upgrade then it puts their future in jeopardy.

Your mate Albo is working on a new stadium at Bruce which will be partly funded by the state and the rest by the feds

Canberra is a key club as they stopped the real afl expansion north

“An NRL team might be an embarrassment on (sic) the country because they don’t have any feeder pathways. There is no NRL going through schools, there’s no sport education because they’re finishing at year six.”

I mean asking a swimmer about rugby league development in png was always going to end up like that

the team is literally receiving 250 million for pathways and to keep kids in school longer

but :

“Even this week, Broncos star Adam Reynolds, Delouise Hoeter and Ryan James visited the country, leaving children in tears.”

Literally? So you've seen all the agreements and plans?

When the Hunters entered the Queensland Cup we were told it would lead to more Papuans playing in the NRL.

Only one player has progressed to to the NRL via the Hunters after a decade in the Queensland Cup.

Wasn’t there some issues with visas that only recently got sorted and also covid would’ve stuffed things up too

they beat a Fiji side stacked with nrl players and previously gb

Nrl clubs have barely scraped the surface in nz and there are basically no nrl scouts in png

there was a recent schoolboys league carnival in png

there wasn’t a single Aussie scout there

imagine what a 300k pa contract would mean to someone born in png. The whole nation will be trying to make the team

The point of the Hunters was to showcase players who've not been picked up by talent scouts in the world's third best competition. Hunters are playing against contracted NRL players every week.
