We were talking about international broadcast rights…With a typical salry of $5k a year and a min wage of $1.50 an hour it wouldnt need to be a lot to have a FT pro league!

Yeh so am I, it wouldn’t take much revenue from selling their comp rights to fox or someone else to support a fulltime comp At those wage levels. Maybe even switch season time to help fox fill the nov-March gap they have for rl coverage. We were talking about international broadcast rights…
Albanese broPlenty beats an NRL side if it's patently obvious that said NRL side isn't sustainable.
and there it is againshame raiders have a pro afl govt
To be honest with you I think there're too many variables to be able to put an accurate estimate on the monetary value of initial interest in the Digicel Cup's broadcasting value in Australia. Can you put a rough $$$ estimate on it?
Neither Albo nor the Australian government has the power to fix PNG's societal issues I'm afraid.Albanese bro
power of the govt
shame raiders have a pro afl govt down there
Playing RL in the wet season in PNG probably isn't a great idea.Yeh so am I, it wouldn’t take much revenue from selling their comp rights to fox or someone else to support a fulltime comp At those wage levels. Lucky you aren’t the pm of AustraliaNeither Albo nor the Australian government has the power to fix PNG's societal issues I'm afraid.
I guarantee that sooner or later it'll end in tears if PNG is given an NRL side any time soon. They're not ready for it, the NRL isn't ready for it, and the government support will dry up long before it's self-sufficient, and will likely never be enough to begin with.
We'll all be wish Albo wasn't either if he's stupid enough to push ahead with vanity projects like a PNG NRL side.Lucky you aren’t the pm of Australia
Not me and the knowledgeable posters on here support thisWe'll all be wish Albo wasn't either if he's stupid enough to push ahead with vanity projects like a PNG NRL side.

However, whatever it would end up being would be a significant source of revenue for the PNGRL, and I'd be willing to bet that it'd grow with supportive broadcast partners, support from the NRL, and government subsidises.
It's not just broadcast standards we could help them with either. Investing in infrastructure, education programs, development officers and skills clinics, assisting them with marketing and merchandising, creating and funding annual combines, etc, etc, all small achievable goals that could have huge impacts, especially collectively and given time.
You and the "knowledgeable posters on here" are an extreme minority of the population of Australia.E

But winter isn't hot enough to play RL in PNG, so play it in summer. What could possibly go wrong?Playing RL in the wet season in PNG probably isn't a great idea.
Disagree, how else would Home and Away, Australian Idol et al rate so high if there weren't a lot of people as "knowledgeable" as wb?You and the "knowledgeable posters on here" are an extreme minority of the population of Australia.
