THC is fat soluble so wouldn't a professional athlete have it leave the body faster than an average person ?

Athletes have fat, just less than the rest of us
But the test for THC in the system is a blood test & if you've ever been to rehab & abstained, it takes 6 weeks to be 'clean' of THC...sits in your liver - your blood cleanser (and other organs too), hence the blood tests.
The point re the myth though is that a finely-tuned athlete's body (like mine ) is actually affected most by chemicals - all their strength & conditioning, diets, etc make them more susceptible / less tolerant to certain chemicals.

Nah you're right mate. I should have realised that posters like Raiders_69, Skeepe, $tinkler, Dunniesman and Newcastlerabble don't hate the Knights. They're simply expressing their noble opinion on the evils of drugs in society.

How foolish of me. Please continue. I'm finding this intelligent and rational discussion between peers to be most entertaining.

Drugs and the Knights go hand in hand.Maybe under Bennnet your drug culture will go away! Ring Gids if you dont believe me!

If the Knights are fair dinkum they will get to the bottom of this and sack all players involved.

If they are not fair dinkum they will just sweep it under the carpet and continue on as if nothing happened.

Knights are the kings when it comes to coverups,ie A.Johns.It will be swept away.

Nothing like a Canberra supporter having a dig. I would rather A Johns drugs and all over that Monoghan fella and his sexual appetite for dogs.

With atleast half a dozen blokes watching too boot - whats he even doing pulling it out with that many people let alone having a dog.......... I know which I am more disgusted over and it aint someone popping a pinger on the weekend!

as i said, when we punted him we sent a clear message to the players, the bullshit was over. We had put up with too much of it, Todd Carney was the straw that broke the camel's back.

the culture has changed since that time, and Monaghan is a perfect example, he did something wrong and like a man, he stood up, accepted full responsibility, and copped his punishment on the chin

Very few footballers involved in off field incidents can genuinely say they took full individual responsibility. Monaghan can, and i have the upmost respect for him and couldnt be prouder to have had him represent my club.

He didn't try and get someone to take the wrap, he didnt out the blokes who passed on the photo, he didnt blame them, he didnt attack the club, he didnt lash out at the NRL or the media for the over kill of the harmless prank, he didnt hide behind a phoney medical diagnosis, he didnt stay bitter and he didnt blame alcohol of claim its not really his go

he said he did a dumb thing, and he alone will face the consequences of his actions.
As said, very few players can genuinely claim to being man enough to own up to his actions, in fact i cant think of one off my head.

Congratulations Roopy someone finally made a doopier comment then you and as such is replaced in my signature!

Dude, I could order 150 tactical nukes from a mate over the phone but if I dont actually take possession of them I wont be charged.

actually if there's a real possibility of getting them i'm pretty sure you'd get charged for trying to obtain an illegal item

people are charged and convicted of attempting to import drugs into the country even if the drugs get stopped in customs

Im not remotely concerned about you quoting me
Monaghan has more guts and more integrity than 99% of footballers who sit there and play the blame game when they do dumb things. Monaghan has my respect for standing up and accepting responsibility for his actions.
you can quote that too

I am glad R69, if you like a bloke who's into that with 6-10 blokes watching then it changes my previously respectful view of yourself.

A few things
1. I couldnt care less what your thoughts on me are
2. I dont like what the bloke did
3. I do respect that when he did something wrong, he put his hand up and accepted the repercussions like a man, he didnt try and blame anyone else, he didnt deny it... straight up, he did something dumb, admitted it, resigned from the club to save them further embarrassment and took 100% full individual responsibility.

In an age where sports stars are forever blaming their environment, denying they did anything wrong to begin with, bitching about the punishments they cop, or hiding behind convenient medical diagnosis or anything else their creative management teams can think of, someone putting their hand up and accepting he did something wrong and accepting the repercussions, deserves respect. He could have gone down any number of paths to try and gloss over it and ride out the storm, instead he was a man and owned up to his actions. Very few in the NRL have done that
