Agree re alcohol but the other part in your post is farcical....if you consider for example that thc stays in your system for 6 weeks (never mind the cumulative effect) there's plenty of cause and effect happening even though its one of the lesser drugs. Know plenty of smokers (agree it is rife) & the habitual ones are f***** when it comes to work performance, application over longer periods (like all day) - they think they're alright though haha. The social, occasional smokers not so obvious.

I didn't mean smoking enough weed to get high, just enough to give you the munchies and make you a little happier.

Yes.

Continue on in anti-troll mode.

Andrew Johns took pills for years and nobody cares at Newcastle even though he was self medicating for bipolar disorder (and they were possibly putting his mental health at even greater risk) because

there is only one Andrew Johns.

We are dealing with situations outside of joe bloggs down the mines or whatever. I don't blame the clubs for turning a blind eye. They are in the business of winning football games and so long as the players aren't hurting anyone why should we care.

That pretty much means you are high. Athletes shouldn't be smoking any way. Vape it or eat it guyzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

No mate. If the Knights were fair dinkum they would have dealt with it when it happened.

Sackings not 100% necessary in all occassions, but some type of reprimand and/or fine and/or rehab programs may have been a good start.

But the magic carpet was the preferred option.

To be fair we don't really know if they were fined or reprimanded they could well have been. I'm sure every club would prefer to deal with reprimands and punishments internally as if they're made public they just create bad publicity. Clubs would probably only make such things public if they knew it was going to hit the media regardless so get in first.

The last thing you want them doing is eating a 4 pack of sargeants pepper steak pies every night :sarcasm:.

Wayne Bennett appears to be a man of substance and integrity. I can't imagine he will turn a blind eye to drug use. I guess we will find out over the coming weeks or months.

Because if the governing says you cant take it then thats the end of the story.

If they said pop as many pills as you like I wouldnt give a f**k, but then we'd have ZERO sponsors or financial backers and our game would be up shit creek.

Wake up dip shit.

I don't talk about my drug habit professionally. The only place I really talk about it is on this forum. I am sure the players won't be like yo wayne gonna grab some pingas do you want any ??

As I said before as they are pro athletes they will metabolise the drugs pretty quickly with their lifestyle.

Yet here we are with players doing drugs all the time

They do live under a different set of rules because the elite players are vastly harder to replace than you or me. The knights just couldn't sack Andrew Johns and put an ad in the paper saying "are you one of the best halfbacks of all time, we have a position opening up"

Winning games also gets sponsors and financial backers for the clubs.

Its all good while its kept quiet, watch them run like cockroaches once things become public.

Well things very rarely become public. The NRL is one of the more honest codes about its issues IN THE WORLD but not that honest, but its rife in all professional sport. As a punter I couldn't give a shit. I would only care if it would have an impact on performance of the Raiders. Although I think they probably were all on benzos or ambien this year.

Footballers are able to dictate terms because of how highly skilled they are. At the end of the day only a tiny percentage of people can make it as a professional athlete. If it means we got to deal with a bunch of pill popping alcoholic maniacs so be it.

For a second there I thought you were Wally Lewis.

Isn't that why this thread exists...it appears they do. And as for the pro athlete metabolism thing, its a myth
