Dont disagree but everyone is bagging Hunt. Has not made any decision yet so who says he wont do the so called "selfless" thing. But he still has to pur himself and family first to some degree.
A lot of what the media trot out id part BS and mostly part manager stuff.
Hunt has said he wants to play under Hook, stay at 7 and stay at the club. What is wrong with that.
The other BS comes from those other 2 sources as per usual with one of them headlining and catastraphising cause thats what they do.

i can agree with you that media is driving a lot of BS, but if its true that he actually met up with the dogs at this time, i cant live with that or his other demands.

For the record, I agree that Lomax was reported as $500k for 6 years ? Initially. This year newspaper reports note $700K now. Perhaps that wrong or has there been some clauses in the initial deal that lift the figure. Definitely not arguing the toss with you. I’m a poster who rates Lomax as solid, unremarkable, occasional bit of brilliance and a good goal kicker. So I hope it’s only $500k

Ado Carr was newspaper reported at initial $550k but again you may be correct.

End of day, it seems we should have a plenty to spend with Tariq going at reported $800k. I couldn’t believe that JDB got $750k at 3 years now heading to 32 years old. However, we seem to be near the limit with our cap.

All the media crap is about leaked stories to try to negotiate better coin, or influence the market to Achieve what individuals or clubs want.

Hunt stays or goes, his choice. He has been our best and most expensive player for a few years, hope next year too. However, developing this young crop should be our focus. Only way to be in a Premiership window in a few years.

Ideally Hunt stays and mentors the young guys, transitions to hooker and has lasting memories and pride in what he achieves in the dragons. If he goes for coin elsewhere thats his prerogative (But I’ll judge him as is mine).

main issue is that the club only resigns him at fair coin and with long term goals in mind for the club.

I think the way Hunt has done it is bloody hard to swallow for us dragon fans .. Remember he is our captain , best player by far ( with our current roster) highest paid player still has 2 games to go before seasons end and meets at the dogs leagues club ( maybe just for a toastie and coffee) rember when Kikau dropped by and accidently had a photo taken of himself wearing the dogs jersey ? WELL wouldnt it be a great look for hunt if he has tried on a new wardrobe ... talk of player revolt ,, hunt doing this well Id love Bud to take over halfback for the 2 games and give benny the hooker so he can really decide his future .. -Hunt is happy because there's no more pressure to move to hooker and he plays at half for a few more years on a ridiculously overpaid contract. Results at St George don't matter because he plays his cameo origin role role at hooker, gets a lot of money for his last contract, then retires in QLD as an origin hero.
-Gus is happy because his masterplan of getting Bud has worked and he also gets one over Hook.
-Hook is happy because his mate has been looked after. He doesn't seem to realise what losing Bud will cost, and so he's also happy in a "Hodor" kind of way.
-Bud may be initially unhappy because he leaves the dragons. However, he learns to like winning games at a progressive club, with a progressive coach, with a team on the way up. He is also happy that he doesn't have to play hooker to appease an aging player.

We, the supporters, are left, as usual, angry at losing another up and coming youngster and suffering more years of boring football with no success.
