10000%, our stupidity and lack of respect for the ball is why we kept turning the ball over, after turning them away numerous times.

Why is every away game the same trend? Every game we play away we do it to ourselves, no possession and countless sets on our own line. Our attitude and mentality sucks.

You could say the same for every side bar about 3.

We are at a pretty low point in terms of game quality tbh. We're no different to a load of other clubs, which is incredibly unsurprising given where the team sank to only 3 years ago.

Once again, we need to fight through this period this time. We are a middle of the road side...better than many when we have good possession and momentum, worse than quite a few when we don't. But when you're coming from the bottom of the barrel, you need to go through that period. That's the only solution. No more quick fixes, no more factional changes, no more salary cap schemes...Being Parra, I think that's long odds to happen personally. But we can hope I guess.

But guess what? We're 5-5, with quality players to return and a soft-ish run home. I guarantee 95% of this forum would have bitten your hand off if you'd offered that start in February...

In hindsight we had a pretty soft draw to start the year. We beat Penrith, who are proving to be the 2018 Eels. Bulldogs are bad, Sharks had half their team out, Tigers were missing their two best players. Dragons were dominating until they imploded. Every loss, bar last night, has been a flogging.

I had us finishing bottom four this year and I stand by that. I think we have the core of a good footy team but these defensive issues that everyone can clearly see need to be addressed urgently.

Sharks had 4 starters out against us. Certainly weaker.
We also where missing 4 starters last night.

I know this upsets some on here but the guy is an absolute plodder.

I am sorry, he doesn't bend the line at all and offers nothing in attack, other then carting it up with little affect. He looks like his jogging on the spot half the time.

Yes he can defend but if we want to go to the next level players like Alvaro, Terepo, Moeroa etc need to go. They are not doing enough for us.

If all he does is defend like Josh Jackson then he needs to crunch in tackles. He doesn't... Tepai can pull of some bone crunchers and runs far harder. Plays tougher.
Alvaro is a great back up.

5-5 is fine for a team that got the spoon last year and probably ahead of where we thought BUT the last 2 games have been the exact same, the only difference is that one team were on and smashed the f**k out of us and the other team were pretty shit and the score looked flattering because they f**ked up so many times.

We played ridiculously poorly in both and that is the most disappointing aspect and why lots of us are worried and annoyed.

We are the most error prone team in the comp as well.......

At 5-3 there were positives but those positives seemed to have fell apart the last 2 weeks significantly.

Can you blame people for being upset?

I think a lot of the people getting upset are likely the same people who went over the top at 5-3. Well, not likely, you can see it from many in their posts.

So yes, in that regard, I think you can blame people for being upset. But I'm not here to judge how people react to the side they watch on TV losing.

What I will say is that you can absolutely blame people for turning on the same players and staff as always. You can blame people for rolling out the same cliches and for carrying on the same way they have for ten years. You can blame people for refusing to see the bigger picture.

But I'm on a hiding to nothing here anyway, I'll just get called condescending, or argumentative, or arrogant, or whatever else people like to call me because I don't agree with them. And that's not necessarily a shot at you, just a general comment. The pity party that goes down in here after a loss is getting ridiculous.

You are definitely more level headed than me.....i'm annoyed at the back to back shit performances, especially with the knowledge that we re-signed both the head coach and captain......psychologically i am sure that says something about the team.......

Hopefully they will turn it around.

I agree with most of what you say here. The problem is that we started with so much energy and hope and led many of us to believe that we were going to be different this year, but last week wasn't just a loss, we were absolutely shellacked by the Storm, and all the signs of years gone by where wooden spoons were won are returning in an all too familiar manner. That is what is the most disheartening thing here, then not only did we lose last week we back it up a week later with another lacklustre display. We did well to hold the Cowboys out last night but we f**king threw the game away through stupidity, when are we ever going to learn?

We had a golden chance to show last night that we can bounce back and deal with adversity but instead we didn't and just proved all along what our fears were/are, which is that we are mentally weak, cannot play away from home and continuously make our life a living hell when on the road. All signs of a bottom team, which looked erased prior to last weekend. But like I said, we didn't just lose last week we got flogged and that just shows that we are such a long way from being in any sort of good position as a club.

And yes if 5-5 had been offered to me at season's beginning I would have signed for it without a doubt, but after seeing us drop last night's game and lose to the Storm, Raiders and Knights like we did, it makes you wonder where we really are at.

Yep, I would rather be 5-5 with our roster, than 2-8 with the Panthers roster.

Yeah I can’t blame people for being upset at losing, or even just playing shit, but the wrist slitting claiming it’s indicative of some wild theory that must so obviously be only thing to fix, after the blowing of the club after winning... is it trolling?

I know you are a troll but i would suggest that Fergo is not anywhere near 100% with his ribs and he is just on the field because we really can't cover him in the slightest.
For sure, you look at his impact and performance prior to the injury and he was phenomenal, since his returned his been very ineffective, playing with a rib injury would certainly hamper your performance.

We csnt seem to win away from home and this year out of Sydney have switched off. Almost like its a boys trip away. I put this on the coach personally. Its like they mentally turn off.

I wish we had a better plan B at 6; Salmon, who I do think was playing well, is no 6, and neither is Smith.

Dylbro can't get back soon enough.
