So Brisbane's late loss is good, and Parra's late loss is bad.........? I loved how Brisbane got slaughtered by everyone they played for 6 weeks, just to maintain focus for the finals

That's because they are crap

missed your edit...

do you plan a loss lol no.

but my argument is it is good to regain focus. it goes with the old saying you don't fix what ain't broke.

Interesting.

I'll tip Saints, but that's extensively one eye'd, Melbourne can give them trouble though, Dogs maybe not so, yes there was "that" decision earlier in the year, but take the f**king rose tints off and dogs supporters may see that they were lucky to be in that game at minute 79, Saints lacked the execution at that point that could have seen the dogs buried at half time, saints seem to be getting a bit of form back and if they get into the groove, then that's half the battle won.

Mind you, injuries can change everything.

Dragons to win!!!

If dragons cant - Manly (eewwwww I feel dirty) might get there.

Dogs will struggle without Kimmorley, but might limp along enough til he gets back.
Titans might - but not this year.
Broncos are always a chance, but too inconsistent this year
Knights could get lucky, but will need a helluva lot of luck to make it all the way
Melbourne seem to lack the fire of years past -but alway threaten to reignight
Eels - sorry. Come sunday - thats all folks.

Manly and Saints stand out for me. Melbourne have class in key positions however the other positions can be exposed, I reckon they will this Friday night at Etihad. The Bulldogs are the dark horse, a staunch club with a quality culture, I'll back them to bounce back this weekend and from there they are only one game from the GF.

Broncos are next but there forwards still lack dominance in the middle. Personally they surprised me they even made the finals, not one of my contenders.

The other three teams I reckon will go down this week and won't recover but all three have had remarkable seasons and should build on that for next year.

Scott Dureau lol...look out rest of competition

Yea genius, Im saying if the knights have any chance of winning the comp or at least causing some havoc that its going to come down to him and mullens combination in the halves

He has kicked the most 40/20s in the competition as well! If i heard correctly

Saints imo

Dogs will go out in straight sets without Kimmorley. Short of him coming back before week 2, i dont give them much hope

Titans have struggled away from home all year, once they hit week 2 and 3, they'll be away from the Coast and down their hopes go

Melbourne, the Brett Finch factor will stop them. Potential grand finalists but at the end of the day, no side will even win a comp with Finch in the halves

Manly, probably grand finalists, will fall to saints... good side, but back to back is imo, impossible these days. They'll fall in week 3 or in the decider to saints

Broncos, decent roughy, hitting form at the right time but i think Manly, Melbourne and Dragons will all beat them if they play them. I see them going out week 1 tbh, titans will beat them at Skilled and the Knights will beat the Dogs without Kimmorley, so that will end the Broncos

Newcastle, lucky to be playing the dogs which will extend their season by a week. They'll beat a kimmorley less Dogs, but lose in week 2.

Parramatta, good chance to knock over saints in week 1, they are a different team with Hindmarsh. But i think finishing 8th has really ended them. If they got top 6, i'd have backed them all the way. Cant do it from 8th imo

If titans win and dogs lose this week, they will go straight to week three and wont they have that in QLD?
so really wont b away from home till grand final if they make

Not really worth thinking about because Broncos are going to give it to them Saturday night. ;-)

Keep writing the Knights off. Doesn't bother us one bit, but I bet those of you who are certainly don't want to play us :)

Newcastle were very good against us back in April, probably the best team we faced in the first half of the comp. But it should be noted that we were missing Weyman and Cooper that night, and Newcastle had (but now lack) Ben Cross and McManus

Brisbane vs Dragons.....that would be a story and a half with Bennett coaching against his formal club in a GF.
Bennett never lost a GF with the Broncos as coach...the Broncos obviously never lost as a club.

Out of every team in the 8, I would love to play the Knights. IMO they're the weakest side in the 8, in fact, I'd go so far as to say every team in the 8 could win the premiership, except for the Knights.

That being said, I can see you getting up over the dogs without Kimmorely this week.

Personally I think the premiers will be Dragons, Manly or Storm. Dogs as well if Kimmorely recovers quickly.

Weakest side in the 8? As in one of the few to have beaten you at Jubilee this year? That one?

Storm and Dragons for mine.
Manly could be out after this weekend, Broncos will beat Titans and Newcastle will beat a kimmorleyless Dogs and Parra could turn it around and play like they were for the 7 weeks prior to last friday with Hindy and Grothe back.
That would see Manly and Titans out.

I'm a big a Knights fan as anyone but would people stop bringing out this ridiculous line? We're a completely different side from what we were at the start of the year when half of those victories actually occurred. The only victory against the top teams that are even remotely relevant to our current position, form and situation was the one against the Storm.

Currently, people are completely with in their right to write us off. It's hard to tell how we're going to turn up at the moment.. we'll just have to wait and see this weekend whether or not we are contenders or pretenders. Flogging a pathetic Panther's side just doesn't convince me personally.

Yes the Knights are the weakest team in the 8, because they were the only ones who had to win in the last round to get there. The other 7 were safe

Common sense finally prevails.

Damn, maybe we should give the premiership to Souths right now, they beat us as well.

I couldn't care less whether you've beaten us or not, you're side is the weakest and most inconsistent in the 8. By the way, your side is playing nowhere near as good as what it was when you beat us.

I wonder how many of those dropped games during the Brian Smith fiasco would have been Knights wins under stable coaching? Knights are easily worthy of being around 4th or 5th. Brisbane had the massive collapse, and look shakiest. If you write the Knights and Parra off (as many have) because of losses at the back end of the season, write Brisbane off. They have not proved that a month of finals footy is within their grasp.

Obviously you didn't watch the Broncos vs. Dragons yet?

If that wasn't finals esque footy from the Broncos...I don't know what is.
