Well, it's the road to the finals and not much time left to tell your top 8. Mine is:

1. Dragons
2. Tigers
3. Warriors
4. Panthers
5. Broncos
6. Sea Eagles
7. Rabbitohs
8. Eels

Raiders are a good chance as well, as are the roosters, but I feel that the Rabbits and Eels will step up.

I think this is going to be the hardest year for a while to predict this correctly.

One week, a team can look gone, then they can turn it around the next week (eg Parra over the last two weeks, Dogs the last 3 weeks prior to yesterday... etc).

I think the top 10 at the moment all have a shot at making the 8, and I don't want to write off Canberra just yet.

I think 9th and 10th will be very dissapointed to miss the 8.

I am going:

1. Dragons
2. Tigers
3. Panthers
4. Broncos
5. Sea Eagles
6. Rabbioths
7. Titans
8. Eels

9. Roosters
10. Warriors

the roosters will be tested in the next 3 weeks, if they win 2 out of thier next 3 , as much as it pains me they will be in the top 8.

The eels shouldnt make it , if the teams who they play lift thier defense, they should know hayne is the eels attack. And if they are any chance in the finals they shouldnt lose to the eels.

If the eels make it then they deserve to be in it , more this year then last year.

Hahah Tigers ?
We have the best squad and best depth in the comp.
BUT we will be lucky to make the 8.
Supercoach is shuffling the Titanic deckchairs like a croupier at the MGM grand and playing god by not picking a halfback for 4 weeks because he missed a sponsor's function.
Put everything you own on the cowboys off the bat tonight and lets see if one journo picks the turd of a coach up on the `Lui is injured' bullsh*t that has been emanating from Camp Concord for 4 weeks. 4 weeks in which the side hasn't cracked 20 points.
The only idiot who thinks Benji @ 7 and Lawrence @ 6 works is the dickhead that picks the side. But remember Benji @ 7 is his Thurston and Lawrence at 6 is his Daley.

Prick

They are competing with the Eels for a spot for mine

I'd probably like to reserve judgement after this weekend - I think whoever wins Friday between Dogs and Eels is a moral for 7th or 8th.

 Stats are always fun when you use them to suit your argument. We've won 3 from the last 4 and the loss was in the last few minutes. Parra have played two teams with rubbish defence in the last fortnight - Friday will be a good game.

Forget 2 out of the next 3. We are on 24 points now so 3 out of 7 will be enough to qualify. Using a bit of Roosters bias and optimism I’ll go with the following –

- Dragons 1st
- Tigers/Panthers/Roosters/Warriors/Broncos 2nd – 6th (any order)
- Manly/Eels/Souths/Raiders/Titans to fight for last 2 finals spots
- Dogs to win at least 4 from next 7 but miss the 8 by 2-4 points

It is gunna come down to the last weekend. Those writing off the Tiges might look a bit glum by season end. I have written them off all year. Hence my low standing in my picking comp. They seem to perform each week. Benji is in good form. His type of player still has their detractors (see above).

Para, has the "Hayne Train" left its trip too late? Maybe. But they are a chance. Gold Coast seem to be floundering now. The Bunnies? Late loss to St George, but they are going OK. I tip them to beat the Warriors at home next week, but my form is ordinary.

Much to my delight, I reckon the Warriors might be doing a Para in 2009. With their run home and form, together with players coming back from injury, they should, I repeat should get in the 8 at least from here at least. They need only 3 wins from 7 and one game against Cronulla.

With 7 rounds to play and a maximum of 14 points, 30 points is the general indicator for getting into the 8.

Bulldogs, are on 16, so need 7 from 7? Its a bridge too far isn't it. Canberra on 18, they need 6 from 7.

My pick for the premiership a few weeks back was Penrith. They now look about as sick as my challenge to win my footy picking comp..........

Only cert is St George and the Tiges. Probably Penrith. Broncos form is pretty good. Manly should make it.

I notice zorba and joe E are aboard my broncos are good things for the comp assertion.

Get every dollar you can, beg borrow or steal and put it on the horsies to win the comp. Piss easy run home means 5th at worst for them. Top 4 means semis at lang Park until the GF as well

And at the start of the year said their pack was crap and they would not make the eight.
I dont know if they can go all the way, but they have as good a chance as any and have probably the best halves in the comp.

the dogs have as much chance of making the 8 as melbourne do.

they got the most blatant bullsh*t calls i have seen all year on sunday and still couldnt win.

they have the worst 1/6/7/9 in the comp by some margain. barba is the only one of that pack worth anything, and even he is still very green.

my tip:

1. Dragons
2. Broncos
3. Tigers
4. Panthers
5. Roosters
6. Sea Eagles
7. Titans
8. Eels

Raiders are the genuine smokey for mine
