And hopefully his last. You lot tore him apart in that first half. Utterly woeful. Didn't even get his jersey dirty.

Cutler at half isn't working either, but it's better than him dropping every ball on the wings or at FB. DJ needs a stint in PL too.

Other than that I was impressed with the fightback, glad we kept plugging away at the top of the ladder.

Penrith defeated Wests 66-22 on Friday and tomorrow night the Eels get a chance to keep up with them (or the Knights).

Top rung of ladder:
Dogs 28
Penny 24
Eels 21
Knights 21

Saints stay where they are on 20 after Canberra beat em.

Results:
Bulldogs 30 Cronulla 24
Penrith 66 W. Magpies 22
Canberra 18 Dragons 16
Auckland 28 Balmain Ryde Eastwood 26
Manly 34 Newtown 18
Parramatta v Newcastle tomorrow

Leon Bott is still young enough for Jersey Flegg so perhaps the Bulldogs will play him there.

Just on Leon Bott, I didn't see the game, but from reports I'm hearing, he's piled on the muscle, didn't get an opportunity to show his speed, can take a high bomb (and did so a few times) and needs to get himself more involved.

It will take time.. It's his first game back for a long time (over a year) so I'm prepared to give him plenty of time to show his worth.

He didn't get his jersey dirty and was missing in defence. He's bulked up a lot (but also around the midsection, a bit chubby tbh).

Keep him in Flegg IMO, we can't risk right side raids in PL when we're so far on top of the comp.

The Knights have jumped to 3rd with a win over the Eels.
Last week the Knights had 20 players unavailable for selection from the graded list at the start of the season. They have used 36 players in firstgrade and the PL side this week had 5 guys who started the season playing in the local comp and 10 guys who played Flegg last season or this season. How we could beat Parra who have only used 23 players in firstgrade has me beat.

Parramatta were ineffective in attack and Newcastle's defence won them the game.

Bulldogs v Newtown was played midweek a couple of weeks back, Canterbury were victorious 28-26.

Only Penrith and North Sydney have the postponed match still to play in Premier League.

Plenty of Flegg games to be made up though.
