Josh Hoffman is hot property.

We'd be very fortunate to win the bidding war he's sparked.

Not rated by Broncs fans....rated highly by Dogs, Tits, Raiders, Warriors.

The Raiders offer has to be the big one, surely. They have no fullback, unless they're planning to use Wighton there.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't 200k more a year than what everyone else is offering.

So if he doesn't end up at the Raiders, they may as well give up trying to sign rep players.

The Dogs don't need him now that they're looking likely to secure the other Morris, plus may end up with the Mataútais if the Knights don't lock that down. So I'm going to guess he becomes a Titan and doesn't end up having to move too far, if at all.

From that Mason article - "Mason believes the Warriors should have done more to help Packer and was critical of their decision to pass a damning character reference on to the NRL's integrity unit, which was reportedly influential in the NRL's decision to not register Packer's four-year playing contract with the Knights."

Errr... what? I think the thing that influenced their decision most of all was, you know, the criminal conviction. Just sayin'.

Willie is actually right about the Packer Files.

The NRL stated at the time that they couldn't take into account any pending court charges for obvious reasons ( one is presumed innocent until proven guilty, one is entitled to a fair hearing and trial.....after the Stewart case...with David Gallop pre judging Stewart...the NRL can't be seen to be forming decisions based on matters that are before the court ).

The damming report from the Warriors ( this is according to the NRL ) steeled their resolve to act independently of the criminal justice stuff and to ban Packer.

Those are the facts and Willie is correct and somewhat mischievous / clever dicky to point them out.

I'm not a Mason fan. However I recognise the rough element in his personality all to well from my professional experience of characters like him.

He plays the game to the absolute limit.....right to the boundary....but no further.

Smart cookie. Charismatic figure, a potential leader in a club like ours......Provided ( this is crucial with the Masons of the world ) that the coach is the Authority figure who is ALPHA MALE.

I don't believe much that comes out of Wayne Scurrah's mouth but if the NRL asked for the club's dossier/memos/background on Packer, they were fairly well obliged to provide it.

Mason might be better to go after the NRL. After all, they were the ones who didn't register the contract.

Clubs have an obligation to individuals like Packer, Locke etc and I don't know - and probably nor does Willie - as to whether that was provided and those sort of individuals just pushed the boat out too far.

Willie is mates with Packer, he's heard Packer's side of the story, of course he's going to be sympathetic and treat Packer's side as fact no matter how weighted it is.

The Warriors do have responsibility, what they did and didn't do though is something Mason wouldn't know for sure. He's just backing his mate in typical Mason fashion.

You'd struggle to find a club who hasn't had players with issues before, he could say the exact same thing about every club, including the ones he's been part of. The article was always going to have a Warriors slant considering he was in NZ and the journos would have been directing Warriors questions at him looking for a story angle.

At least fans can stop with the "we should get Mason" talk. He was never coming and thankfully so.
