What evidence is there of any coverup? What evidence is there of the club doing any less than what is expected of them. They are not obligated to tell Rothfield what he wants. Their obligation over disclosure is to the NRL and there is no evidence that they failed that.

So you think the club told the NRL about the 'satisfaction' when they first reported it to the Integrity Unit ?

The police report classified this incident as a misdemeanor.

It's a scary thing when BunniesMan is making more sense than the majority of posters here.

I was watching Cops ,,,"drunks and druggo's" limited edition series and guess who popped up, Sutton and Burgess being manhandled and crying like babies.
They did the full routine, "show me your hands, get on your knees, eat dirt, put your hands behind your back, stop crying, where are you from, stop crying.".
What a embarrassment. You cant take souths players anywhere.

They try that in England and they will be given a liverpool kiss.

I had to laugh at the police reports. Sutton and Burgess were racially classed as "non-hispanic".
Flagstaff Arizona must have one mother of a problem with the Mexicans there if all other races are bundled together!!

A) Is there proof Souths knew?
B) If the club knew is there proof they didn't tell the NRL?
C) If they didn't tell the NRL is there any rule saying they were obliged to tell them? Does anyone here know the specific rules when it comes to disclosing incidents to the Integrity Unit?

And whether or not the the NRL was told of the 'satisfaction' what does it matter? It's not like it's a bribe. All parties were within their legal rights to conclude the matter the way they did.

the fuss isn't over the fight..

the fuss isn't over the arrests..

the fuss isn't over the settlement..

the fuss is over the secrecy and coverup the club tried to do..

if they're hiding this, what else are they hiding?
Private organisations have no obligation to publically air everything that occurs at their clubs. Can you imagine if your workplace did that? Every indiscretion somebody makes becomes public knowledge?

Gal can do all the pre-season training in the world and he'll still never lift the premiership trophy.

Well something as offensive as a tweet was $50k
So drunken disorderly and assault must be atleast $100k - $150k. Fugg it, make it $200k.
DUI should be considerably more.

You can play it down as an offensive tweet but he called everyone in charge at the NRL merkins. $50k was harsh ($15k suspended) but what did you want them to do? The guy is the captain of this state and at the time was banned for using illegal substances.

Come to think of it, didn't he use being pissed as his excuse? I wouldn't have thought any sharks player had done anything wrong on the piss the way some of you guys have carried on the last few days.

1. they needed to make it clear to the integrity unit what occurred. given that the case has been re-opened, it does not appear to be that way.

2. sutton earns a living through his talent & profile. even in a private organisation, if a person has a high enough profile the public demands to know. it's part of the society we live in today. you can't expect on one hand to make a living off your profile, and on the other try and keep it private. it's the price of fame (doesn't make it right, no. but it's how it is..)

3. souths pull in revenue from sponsors and members. are you a member? don't you want to know what is happening with your membership $$? would you prefer it go into football clinics at schools or to a US lawyer to fund your captain's bad behaviour?
