4. Reni Maitua (Bulldogs)
5. Shannon Hegarty (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
6. Braith Anasta (Bulldogs)
7. Brett Finch (Sydney Roosters)
8. Ben Ross (Penrith Panthers)
9. Luke Priddis (Penrith Panthers)
10. Steve Price (New Zealand Warriors)
11. Luke Ricketson (c) (Sydney Roosters)
12. Clint Newton (Newcastle Knights)
13. Ashley Harrison (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
14. Kurt Gidley (Newcastle Knights)
15. John Sutton (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
16. Chris Flannery (Sydney Roosters)
17. Anthony Tupou (Sydney Roosters)

The team will assemble in Sydney on Thursday 15 September, transfer to Cairns on Friday 16 September and arrive in PNG on Saturday 17 September where they’ll meet extensive commitments until departing on Tuesday 20 September

“I’m very proud to captain such a quality side and it’s great that I can put something back into Rugby League at this stage of my career,” captain Luke Ricketson said today.

“AIDS is a big issue for their people and we’re fortunate that the profile of Rugby League in PNG will give us the opportunity to deliver some key messages during our visit.”

Gower will probably make the tri-nations so there was probably no point including him.

Finch over Prince ? Puh-lease

Prince is in the finals, hence the selction of the team being made up of players NOT taking part in the finals series..... ;-)

Brett Finch

What an absolute f**king joke. I hope they lose now (won't happen but it would be nice).

Congratulations to Sutton, Newton, Schif, and Harrison though, didn't think the selectors would give them a chance.

Halfbacks from teams not in finals;
Johns
Carney
Walker
Hughes
Jones (Kiwi)
Gower
Finch

Not really much of a choice. Price was picked and he was named in the train on squad, so why couldn't have Gower been picked?

so why isnt prince playing

As said before mate, Scott Prince is playing the semis, No Semi's players were picked.

Im really happy for John Sutton, How good is this kid, The Bunnies are better off with him and not signing Anasta.

Thanks all. Good to have so many on the ball ;)

But you get my point. Finch over (insert any halfback) ????

exactly...but who is there?

panthers gower...he will tour
warriors Jones...kiwi
dogs sherwin...injured
rabbits walker....no chance
raiders carney or withers....no chance
knights johns....warrington and will tour.

Finch is the only one available. He should treasure his jersey as he will never see another green and gold....unless he goes to Rebel and spend $139 on one
