Halo 3, Reach, and the Combat Evolved anniversary are the first ones that come to mind apart from Gears of War which you already mentioned.

Halo is garbage like most shooters and GoW is boring. Sorry to say if it's exclusives you're after you bough the wrong console.

Mass Effect is PS3 as well right? I know 1 was exclusive orignially but then they released it on PS3 later? If not, I might have to buy the xbox version so my decisions will carry over. I don't already have an xbox though, but I was going to buy one at the sale if possible. But maybe I shouldn't, if its just halo and gears of war I'm missing out on.

Is there any reason to own both consoles if you don't care about gears of war/halo people?

That's your opinion, he could very well enjoy Halo and Gears, the only way he will found out is be playing them. Though definitely agree on Mass Effect.

Been looking around cash converters for older games that are fun, not necessarily classics to have a few newies. Sega Rally, Wolfenstein, Cricket 2010 were cheap as and will be great for a rainy weekend.
Sports titles are plentiful, and drop the moment a newer year update comes out...so will pickup a Madden '11 and Fifa '11 next week.

Then that's probably more than enough to start with! I'll settle down after that and simply find a decent RPG, then decent survival horror few weeks later, and so on.

You're picking one up at a great time, I'm pleasantly surprised how cheap the software is, for good titles. Unless you absolutely want new releases, there's tons of good priced great games around. I've been taking note, then googling reviews, and getting games at around the $10-$15 mark

Sounds like the sale is a bust anyway, nothing worth getting is available online and from what I hear the staff have bought everything decent or are hiding it out the back of the store and refusing to sell it.

Went to the one at Fairfield around 12:30 (knew it was late, so wasn't expecting much), they had absolutely nothing. The guy in the shop reckoned the only ones left with any stock were Blacktown or Dubbo.

Dicksmith are having some kind of lunatic sale apparently starting monday so you should be able to get a stack of older games that are decent quality

Having a look over that list LA noire is flawed but it is an experience and 5 bucks is about what you would want to pay for it, borderlands will give you more than 5 dollars worth of entertainment and and red dead redemption is good value for 5 dollars as well.

They are sell DSIs for 20 dollars lol.

Anyone with 1/2 a brain (apparently not "gamers" out to make a quick buck) would have realised that was a clearance sheet and known that not every store would have had most it ems in stock.

Now they want to complain to the ACC?? DSE didnt advertise all the items, the leaked paperwork did. The way I understand it is if 1 store nationwide had the game in stock, it went on that sheet.

Good fun reading the comments on news.com.au and laughing at the people who wasted their time going there.

That sucks man, sales tempt ads like that piss you off.

I should be set for a few weeks, have got a few games to get stuck into. There's a local game store with 20% off new and 30% off s/h games, so might check that out. The problem for me is being new to 360, there are literally YEARS of games that are so good, it's tempting to spend a fortune and really stock up. But how many games can you play at once? The only one I'm going in to look for is one of the fight night ones- the newer the better. Had that on the first xbox and really liked a good bit of biff. Probably prefer it to the other one on one fighters. So many others to check out for too- Gears of War, Burnout games- the list could go on for ages. So will just focus on the boxing game I'm after, and stop there for a few weeks I think.

Not a bad haul after two weeks- but I never buy a new machine without cash budgeted for games to go with it- And shopping around, got those for a few bucks more than one new release...;-) Checked all, seems a lot of second hand stores resurface before selling nowadays...you used to buy PS2/Xbox games and they were in hideous cond. All look free of scratches, most look brand new cases/manuals too.

I saw the new release Silent Hill collection there...was tempted but managed to refrain! ;-)
