PS3 vs XBOX 360

GoW is a crappy franchise.

Mass Effect should be your first game then ME2. You don't understand how awesome it is to mould your own play through with decisions.

If you get a CoD game I'd only recommend Black Ops since CoD4 & WaW are all hacked and the MW2/3 games suck. Blops was pretty good on hindsight and only second chance stopped it from being the best.

Play Arkham Asylum before Arkham City as well. These games are all cheap these days.

Also don't go and buy all these games at once just buy one or at the max 2. My mate buys 3,4,5 games at a time and you seriously could not absorb a game fully by doing a little but at a time.

IMO get Mass Effect & play GTA on the side. Then get Mass Effect 2 then play Mass Effect 3

When you've got a lot of time, get Darksiders. It's an enjoyable game, won't let you down.

Cheers Guys, will make a little wish list to look out for, there's certainly plenty of AAA titles at really good prices around. A few good sports titles are a must too, a new Madden, fight night games I enjoy, of course a League game...
@Tonearm: I know what you mean, re buying only a couple of games. I know a few people who bulk buy just because they can, then end up with stacks of games not played! Kind of reminds me of school days with the games swopping for the old computers/modded PS1 etc- even avoiding the piracy moralities, you just don't appreciate the games, and you end up just collecting them to say you have them, and hardly even giving them a go.
So I'll probably buy some sports games second hand in bulk style, but good plotline adventures/FPS/RPGs etc I'll be buying only 1-2 at a time to give them time.

Meh, I enjoyed the original Halo on the first Xbox, I've just started Halo reach and really enjoying it.

Just bought the 'Bully' game on a local online auction for $20, I loved that game on PS2, be fun to have that again.

Question on Xbox 360 'region free' or lack thereof- I understand the PS3 is region free- but with the 360, can you purchase games from other PAL areas? The UK PAL games were always ones I could get for the PS2/Cube/Xbox without any issues and they worked fine- Is that still okay with 360 ones?

Any PAL game should work regardless of where you got it.

Sweet! The Silent Hill collection comes out at the end of the month...Silent Hill 2 is one of my faves from the PS2 era. It's quite a reasonable price on EBay- So if it comes out here as a full price new release I'll head over there for it. There's quite a few cheap Black Ops as well.

Yeah, thanks for that Haynetrain, I have been reading some online reviews about it. Some favourable, but there's one in particular that was shocking. Might be a rent before buying this one. Breaks my heart as SH2 is such a great game that deserved the sort of Remake treatment Resident Evil got on the Cube, but sounds like it was a sloppy lazy rehash port.

Having a look over that list LA noire is flawed but it is an experience and 5 bucks is about what you would want to pay for it, borderlands will give you more than 5 dollars worth of entertainment and and red dead redemption is good value for 5 dollars as well.

Yeah, was hoping this wouldn't be so well known, if you're lucky enough to score some of this ridiculously cheap gear then good work.

Why would they do this? Like, that is crazy low prices, why would they sell for that low? There's undercutting the marker and then theres cutting your own throat ffs!

For whatever reason DVDs and BDs are region locked while games aren't, I personally am still surprised that region locking happens in this day and age.

EDIT: $15 for 12m live subscription? That's like 80% off f**king crazy prices.
