That's crap. He debuted for the Western suburbs Magpies. We would have kept him rather than Joel Caine, but the Eels had already poached him by the time the merger was organised. At the stage you picked him up he was already a very promising young footballer. He's where he is because of his own talent, hard work and dedication.

No, he was pretty much nothing when he came to us, a promising footballer but so were Ashley Graham and Luke Burt. Smithy gave him an opportunity and he took it. Ask Hodgo himself, he'll tell you what an influence Brian had on his career.

The only reason he isn't wearing blue and gold still is because the Tigers were willing to pay ALOT more for what was an injury prone footballer, he's over it now but at the time he couldn't string 3 games together without breaking, tearing or straining something.

I'm not doubting Smith had an influence on Hodgo's career. Just like Sheens is having an influence on Benji's career. But I would never say Benji would be nothing without the Tigers - we plucked him from obscurity as well.

He was not nothing when he came to you. He'd already played 2 seasons of first grades. The magpies coaching staff are the ones who moved him from 5/8 to fullback, possibly the most influential move of his career. It's pure arrogance for you to claim Hodgson as a product of the Eeels development system. Maybe we should claim prince because we gave him a start when he was unwanted at Brisbane.

Hodgo is only on 200k, so I don't know how that can be ALOT more. I've spoken to Brett, he came to the Tigers because he wanted to come home. He said it was always his intention. The bloke wants to coach us one day FFS.
