He was not nothing when he came to you. He'd already played 2 seasons of first grades. The magpies coaching staff are the ones who moved him from 5/8 to fullback, possibly the most influential move of his career. It's pure arrogance for you to claim Hodgson as a product of the Eeels development system. Maybe we should claim prince because we gave him a start when he was unwanted at Brisbane.

Hodgo is only on 200k, so I don't know how that can be ALOT more. I've spoken to Brett, he came to the Tigers because he wanted to come home. He said it was always his intention. The bloke wants to coach us one day FFS.

Considering the bad run of injuries he had just before he left Parra the offer the Eels gave him was $120,000 compared to the 200,000 (maybe even a bit over) he got at the Tigers, so yeah it was a fair bit more money at the Tigers

Obviously, he wouldn't have been nothing had he not come to Parra (man it's easy to get you tigers fans to bite) but consdering what happened to the Tigers prior to Sheens coming Hodgson development would've been serverly stunted had he stayed at the Tigers.

I'm not claiming him as just a product of our development system (not that you don't have alot of players who fit this description in your team), but they brought out his potential and then you bought him back. You act like you bought him off us as a dud.

I like Hodgo, I love watching him play, I think he should be the Australian/NSW fullback, but people seem to forget he was a star at the Eels and make out like he has come out of nowhere.

120k is not the figure i've heard, i've heard 150k. Wouldn't calle 200 ALOT more. Nor would I call it the only reason he came to the Tigers. But you can live in your fantasy world where Brian Smith save players like Morrison and Tahu from being nobody's and where Mackinnon is the number 1 fullback in the game.

We'll take Hodgo and know he's a local product thanks.

Hodgo is on 250k mate, get real, 200k? :lol: The Eels offered 120k because of his injury record, the Tigers knew what he was capable of if he got over the injuries and offered 250k so of course he took it. If the Eels matched the offer, I guarantee he'd still be with us today.
