Seeing as Storm spent most of the game offside, basically shaking hands with our attack, why didn’t Klein penalise them. When he got Reed for the shepherd, Hines I think was 4/5 metres offside, still nothing.

How do the Storm get away with slowing down the ruck, laying across players, coming in late, and questioning the decision when defending all to slow the play down, They are up there with the Roosters as far as untouchables.

possibly an over reaction, it felt like it from the get go tonight

Practice, practice and more practice..the plus side is they are both much better defenders than moses. Tonight, defensively he was horrible. I'm a moses fan but i don't know having him being exposed week in week out is a good thing..it may be a call which has to be made..

Melbourne masterfully isolated Moses one on one with K Bromwich over and over again. The way Melbourne saw a weakness in our side and attacked it mercilessly was something else. The shapes, the interchanging between short and long passing, the different ball players, the docoy running, the offloads, isolating the halfback one on one, the speed etc

The reason Melbourne consistently have the wood on us is because they play with intelligence. They study their opposition they bring a game plan and they execute. On top of that they take away what we do best which is bring high energy and effort. They play at a speed/physicality that exceeds what we produce and they have a game plan on top of that.

BA is always talking about effort areas, completion rates, possession etc all the good things. But largely having watched this team for a few years now they really dont play with anything resembling intelligence. They have their moments but largely it the same ineffective stuff over and over again. The long shifts, the tap back bombs, Moses bombs.....

im not saying get rid of BA. He's done some really good things with this team but they need to hand over the keys in terms of set plays and structures to someone else.

Agree and really poor sportmanship by them.
Watch in particular Felise Kaufusi. He never binds in the scrum and has raced out before the ball has cleared.
C.Smith, B.Smith, Munster, NAS, Bromwich x 2 all dirty grubs, niggling and baiting Mahoney, holding down relentlessly and being allowed to get away with it..rules for some and rules for others

Don’t think Moses was the problem tonight.
Think he had some class touches and a few poor ones.

the game changed on Mahoney’s crap kick followed by Fergo’s horrible knock on off the Hughes kick after we had just levelled up. The momentum we had finally swung after they’d scored 3 straight tries was lost within a set.

you just can’t do that against a great team.

the refereeing was horrible too at times, but I wouldn’t blame the loss on it but being at the ground and seeing what melbourne was constantly able to get away with vs what we were constantly punished for was laughable.

to read Ennis saying we will lose next week as the knights or Souths will pull apart our right edge and kill us - neither of those teams are in the same ballpark as the storm and they didn’t “kill us”.

Little to no mention of us losing our wingers and having to play completely different combinations.

I’m confident we’ll win no matter who we play next week at Bankwest.

I’m just back from the game and completely agree. Mahoney’s ordinary kick and Ferg’s ordinary catch swung momentum. That’s the way it goes when you play a great side like the Storm. The boys played out of their skin tonight. Gutho’s efforts were sensational. In particular he made a great cover defending tackle on Pappy and then helped get Vunavalu into touch about 50m away on the next tackle. Proud of the boys tonight.

Funny story, my son goes for the storm (posted it a few times).

Anyhow he is grounded from his xbox until Monday. He was at his mates and messaging me in the second half giving it to me.

Each msg, I responded with an extra week of grounding, joking around. It got up to 7 weeks.

He called my wife after the game too see if “dad” was ok and if I was serious.......he was shitting himself.......
I would ground my son until he was 21 if he even contemplated going for the storm

Tell your son that going for the Storm won’t earn him any credit with his teachers. His uncle would be happy with the Panfas.

It happend earlier. 12-0 and Moses makes a break. Should of pass to Gutherson. In end was a 1 on 1 strip.... From that point we looked 2nd to them.
But yes we got back to 18 all. Had Rheed pulled off a 40/20 who knows but it was all over then.

I think we put a lot of holes in them. Rooster or Canberra can beat them.

We can beat Knights. Unsure about Souths.

I think Fergo might be ok to play next week.

Sivo out means a change. George comes in.

We could then put Taka or Salmon in centres or Taka on wing even if need 2 guys.

Dunster is no chance.

From the pressers

BA: Sivo is gorne. Fergo scans. Team played dumb and panicked when they should have iced.

CB: Eels good team. If Papenalphabet didn’t play they lose. We lost both wingers and that gave them the edge.

I also do not thing we lose anything. I wanted Sivo gone a while ago.

Blake has been solid but hardly anything special.

Likely the most dispensable two in our side

I tell you what was promising. We had stuff al ball. Barely on their line and had 4 tries and 2 disallowed......

But they where far superior imo. I didn't mind the effort. Once our two props went off we where cooked.

on Mahoney gee he impressed me. He stepped up.

Dylan Brown for all the wraps , I mean of course yes he is very young. I think he will become an awesome player but base on current form he is only playing average

We did quite well, all things considred:

* Sivo goes off injured early (despite his for, or lack thereof, he is still part of our structures)

* left centre moves to right centre, right centre moves to left wing, second-rower moves into left centre

* second-rower playing left centre gets concussed, forcing another shuffle

It's disappointing we lost, but Melbourne had all the ball, and to their credit, they clinically attacked our edges all night, and we only lost by 12.

Who was the last team to put 24 points on Melbourne?
