If is was the coach of The Dragons tomorrow with the squad we currently have Matt Dufty would be in the no. 1 jersey for the rest of 19. Not saying he is the goods..but the best we have.
Rav No 2. Lomax No 3. Ford 4. Saab 5. Widdop 6. Hunt 7. Vaughan 8, Mc Innes 9, KSims10, Frizz 11, Leilua 12, Lawrie 13, Timm 14, Kerr 15, Graham 16, Norman 17

Dufty or not Dufty that is a question.
Of the sides with in 2 points per game defence records as ours their full backs are Gordon ,Watene-Zelezniak/Hopoate Tuivasa-Sheck and Gutherson and as an aside if Dylan Edwards had been a horse they would have put a screen up and euthanized him early in the seaon.
Just half a point out of this group is the team with Ponga at the back.
Would putting any one of them at the rear for the Dragons have changed our defensive record I will say it wouldn't have maybe just maybe our attack might have been better.
The real question is how much better will all the players be with a REAL COACH ?

Quinlan mark 2 is probably the best description of him lol
Disagree.

Dufty has much more upside and apart from their size the two shouldn’t be compared.
Quinlan was ok if put in space, running into a hole - that’s it. Quinlan was a support player with speed - Dufty is an attacking weapon.
Dufty has and will continue to create opportunities and score from nothing (if given more time).

It’s such a dam shame his defensive reads are so poor, fix this and he could be anything. With Mcfade, Hornby, Young, Timmins, Head, Milward and a cast of other trough feeders at the club the shame is on them.

Game plans and coaches working hard on his defense and positioning for fullback and allowing game plans for offloadfs and support play, not sit back and get ready for the typical stage set of each tackle in attack..
In saying that I have seen improvement this year in Dufty's defense and positioining but it is clear he is getting the chop to accommodate Widdop, Hunt & Norman why they are all here in 1st grade.
And why is Sailor ahead of Dufty when Sailor has not proven anything or been given a chance too yet.
Mary has given up on Dufty because he is screaming let me off the leash and rove around the field like Tedesco but that does not suit Dragons Footy

I sense McIdiot didn’t have faith in Dufty from the start.

yep superleague like quinlan lol

No...I reckon he will get a start here....Miles ahead of Quinlan...Blind Freddy could see that....LOL

P.S Before he resigned with us, 3 other clubs were making inquiries....

Gallen has spoken highly of him in the past and if they had a spot available I reckon he would thrive there.

And while yes he’s better than quinlan Mary has tainted him with his coaching

I’m not comparing abilities just saying it will play out the same way

Duff was our leading try scorer last year.

Periera was this year, until he got mysteriously dropped.

Mann and Nightingale where leading try scorers and then changed positions or moved to the bench as impact players/forwards.

THOSE BLOODY RUSSIANS HAVE HACKED MARY'S COMPUTER!!!!!
We have a bunch of reserve grade standard players trying to play first garde this season and possibly next season unless they opt to leave the Club.
Dufty
Pearson
Ravalawa
Aitken
Lafai
These days are all bound for reserve grade under a proper coach. All should be selected in reserve grade. If Dufty, Aitken and Lafai along with Maranta, Field and Masters all moved on for the 2020 season, The might be enough cap to buy Ramien and with say a little of Widdop's cap, be able to buy Gagai. This would give us a backline of:
1. Lomax
2. Saab
3. Ramien
4. Gagai
5. Ravalawa

Yes a young and mostly inexperienced backline however all have shown sings of potential this season.

Lomax - fullback or right centre
Saab - winger
Norman - five-eighth, fullback or left centre
Hunt - halfback
are the only first grade backs we have for season 2020.

Disagree..... Because he has plenty of upside and will more than likely be cheap ( currently not starting in the top grade )... Club has allegedly told him to look elsewhere....He may end up in super League, but there is the opportunity for someone to snap up a promising young player who with proper coaching and attitude could be a more than solid 1st grader.....

Anyway, agree to disagree on this one..
