I wonder if that means Dureau will get a run in PL - or maybe they will give Hunt a run at 5/8.

Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!

I dont ming Tighe, but not if he plays on the wing.

If Super Scottie gets a run in PL, he will get the biggest cheer from us Crusaders.

f**king awesome news, I'd love to see Tighe grind his way back into the side, and this is his chance. Not necessarily at the expense of Quinn, but I genuinely rate him as one of the top 3 outside backs in the club(along with Thaiday and Carney when he gets his defence right).

Tighe was our most promising up-and-coming young player last year. He scored a couple of classy tries against good opponents. As much as i love quinny, tighe should slot in nicely. He's definitely a first grader, although i realise he's quite young and has a lot of developing to do.
He'll be fine on the wing-he looks like a centre but wing will be fine. Maybe not cut out for 5/8 in premier league.
He's a runner so hopefully he'll slot in nicely on the end of our classy backline

But when he's played wing in first grade before he's been poor, centre he's been outstanding.

I'd put Carmont to the wing, although that is tough on Carmont. Hagan will probably just chuck him on the wing though.

Btw to all those claiming Tighe is an ordinary winger, keep in mind that when he played there it was his first few games in FG.

True, I have no doubts he can get the job done but i think he is just so much better in centre where he can get involved more.

IMO we will see Carmont and Tighe swapping positions a bit. Anyway good on Tighe for getting a go, hopefully he does well and atleast can secure a bench spot for when Quinn comes back.

me too, he could fill in pretty much anywhere in the backs and could probably fill in at Lock.

Do we all remember what Timana Tahu looked like when he first played in the top grade? Woeful -- but the club was right to stick with him. Tahu is one of the most naturally-gifted backs in the competition.

Come to think of it, Lenny Beckett played fairly ordinary when he first started too, and no-one knows where he went... :p

Thats true, but with Kidley's versatility at playing anywhere in the backs if need be, as well as Lowrie and Brown able to fill a few spots back there, that allows us to field a specialist half in case Johns is injured *touch wood* or we need some more attacking flair and options to get points on the board

i.e Tigers match

Well Tighe can play wing, centre and in the halves with ease, and I bet he could play fullback if necessary.

Mullen can play in the halves.

Tighe adds just as much attacking flair as Mullen.

The only case in which Mullen is more useful is if Johns gets injured.

Yeah, but the point is Mullen is coming on to replace Kurt, who can then cover just as many positions as Tighe, so it doesn't matter that Mullen isn't as versatile.

I'm excited about seeing Tighe play - I wish he'd been given a chance at the start of the year - was there a speculative side on this forum that didn't include his name!? The only place it was missing from was the actual 13.

This is what i've wanted to see for a while, but rather at the expense of Carmont instead of Quinn. But it is good to see him get a run none the less.

Maybe his position isn't wing, but he has enough natural ability to excel in that position. Let's hope he plays well and secures his spot in the team.

If he's going to secure his spot in the team, I sure as hell hope it's not at the expense of Quinn.
