We were equal second when Wallace went down. We then won 2 from 5 with Smith replacing him, going into the finals. It's a moot point. The reason we got there that year was because Moylan, Soward and Seg were firing. My point is, if we want to be armchair coaches, let's not make stuff up. Wallace and Soward brought us success that we haven't had in years. Are they the halves we should bsc to win a premiership? Of course not.

It's a moot point. Two years down the track, we obviously need something different. Can Seg come back to. Similar form to 2014 when he was unquestionably the best Hooker in the game? That will play a big role. Does Griffin have the balls to have a crack at the big move most of us think is at pearly worth a look?

We had a chance twice in the first half to take the two in front of the sticks and we didn't. I thought at the time that it was a huge mistake and it certainly ended up that way.

And yet we were somehow running second.

Go back and watch when Soward truly stood up as a player in 2014. It was when Wallace was injured. We were missing half a dozen players including Wallace but he and Moylan lifted and carried us. He was solid in the first half of 2014. But he was exceptional in the back half when we needed him to be.

It didn't matter who partnered him. Cartwright. Peachey. Smith. He lifted to another level and carried a side missing its best forwards to one game short of a grand final appearance. Wallace at 7 never allowed him to be that player.

Edit
We also had a reasonable draw that year where we didn't beat quality teams until the end of the year.

Wow... 40 missed tackles.... That is absolutely unacceptable - Thing is, it doesn't seem as if it is being addressed... 308 missed over the season so far

The coach knows about it or is talking about it in the press conferences each week...it doesn't seem to be improving that is for sure.

Missed tackles are still killing us, but at least our completion rate was much improved, 33 / 38.

Agreed - Our attack still looks a little stale at times, but the error rate was much better - In saying that, we're not going too far in this comp with that terrible defence.

Yet for some reason ET can't get a run and therefore seems like he wants out.
I honestly can't comprehend how a player like ET is not in the starting 13 week in, week out.

Speaking of him wanting out, are there any rumours about what's happening there?

It seems to be more 1 v 1 misses, rather than bad reads leaving guys isolated. Not sure if there's a lot Griffin can do about that.

Sorry mate but that can't be true - So, the coach can't coach players to tackle properly? Pretty sure that's definitely his job

It is not the job of an NRL coach to teach these guys how to tackle they all know how they have been coached at an high level since they were kids. Its his job to get them to apply it effectively but there also has to be a lot of ownership from the players.

That may be so, but the stats tell a different story mate - Surely the coach steps in at some stage and does something...? Or, does he just let it go as something out of his control?

Hiku tackled Bird who passed to Holmes and Mansour had a bad miss on Holmes, as bad as Sowards really.

point is every game we have these bad misses. That really undo the great work we have done. The players need to improve or the coach drops them
