There were genuine arguments that it does not happen, and one of the pieces of evidence cited was that he's in the top ten for running metres...though conspicuously no mention of how many runs he actually makes in an average game was included with the argument.

Stats were posted in other thread but you ignored it.
No one is doubting he gets pushed back in tackles, but he is only behind BJ in average per run.
There is no other centre that take more hitups than he does. Heck, Konrad Hurrell as big as he is doesn't go in taking hitup after hitup

The Knights attack looked half decent in a 5min patch when Clydsdale came on and got the forwards rolling it through the middle. But the other 80% of the time is the outside back coming in taking the runs.

The thing that annoyed me most about the Houston incident is not so much that he dropped it - people make mistakes but the fact that he called a run on the side of the field where we had virtually no attackers and they had 6 defenders. Even if he caught it he probably would have been driven back about 20 metres

Mullen is the least of our problems.

In other news on average we score roughly 15 points a game and concede 23.

Wait, what? I saw the score online at the 79th min and it was 32-18.
Now I've just seen they scored again. Ferks sakes.

As a warriors die hard I feel for u guys , we've been here before

Boyd is definatley an issue I think , his performances this season for u guys have been woeful and to watch him play like he did for QLD would have been a kick in the guts for knights fans

We need to clean out club including the coach and his assistants.

It was a long day with all 3 grades losing.

The spoon is ours for 2014

Bennett not hooking Houston when he made that coach killer mistake shows that Bennett is accepting mediocracy. Just not good enough for a 1st grade coach

Nothing to say, utterly predictable.

The light is slowly but surely being extinguished.

Honestly, what the f**k goes through Bennett's mind when he watches us score off the back of a well constructed attacking set and he decides to put Gidley in?

Mullen is a top class player. If we had 17 of him we'd be winning premierships.

If you actually mean that literally, then you're very wrong. But if you mean that 17 top class players who actually fit into their designated positions in the team, then yeah I think we'd be going pretty well. Of course if we multiplied Mullen's salary by 17 we'd already be over the cap.

Jarrod's a good footballer if you have enough class around him. But he's not a superstar. No superstar misses Origin selection for their entire career just because they were 'picked too early' and 'let down' when they were a teenager. Absolute class rises to the top in time. Hodges was a basket case in his first Origin, but he fought back to the point nobody even mentions it. It's history, as should Mullen's Origin appearance be. Seriously, if he was good enough he'd have made it back by forcing the selectors' hands. His competition is nothing special but he never knocks the door down when the heat is on, and he always gives selectors a reason not to pick him.

I love having Jarrod at our club because we need him badly and he's our best player. Sadly that says a bit more about the quality of our squad than it says about the player.

Do you watch football or read stats? Want to watch a replay of today's game and focus on Gagai's hitups? Then get back to me.

And I should add I'm actually a fan, as you'll note from other threads I think he's being starved of a decent platform this season and I don't believe he's out of form. Sublime skills and footwork, loads of potential.

But he does get dominated a lot when he comes in looking to help out our useless forwards. Do I blame him for trying? Of course not. Am I arguing he doesn't make a lot of runs because we need him to? Nope. Am I guaranteeing you that anyone who pays attention can see that he often struggles to hold his ground in the contact in a way that someone like McManus doesn't struggle with? Yes. Massive yes.

There is no defence for this side's standards anymore. The fact is they are a good side playing with no idea whatsoever. The pay dramas and that stuff is pathetic really now. I was empathetic to them in the beginning but the simple matter is they are defeated before they run out and I feel they are trying to convince themselves now that they are just another week from a win. Please. Why can't Bennett just let them play football as clearly the structure is a joke.
I am truly over it now. It is appalling how ordinary they are. The club should release Boyd NOW and test Wayne's resolve. If he follows Boyd then we can move forward knowing it was never about this club for him. If Wayne accepts our decision then I will respect him even more. Cos finally he gets that Boyd is a mercenary who is not his responsibility anymore.

Commiserations guys. The scoreline was not a reflection of the game- you were much more in it than that.

Lol mate. I guess pearce gets in on his merits aye?

Pearce is a joke. If you want me to say that I think Pearce is better than Mullen then I'll never say that, because he's not. But Pearce could never get picked if Mullen was bashing the door down and playing like one of the standout halves in the comp on a consistent basis. Mullen has never done that, and he's never done it when it counts.

Saying it's not fair because Mullen is better than Pearce is like being upset that one average singer on The Voice loses a battle to another average singer. If either of them were truly top drawer, there would be no argument.

I was at the game, which often can give you a misleading representation of what really went down in the game (particularly since I was at ground level, directly behind our bench funnily enough), but I didn't think we were that bad. The problem is we ran through our usual game plan and are rarely able to adjust. Ironically one of the only times we did that was Mullen's ill-advised kick to McManus close to half time.

Obviously the 'bomb to Manu' option was the only reason we trailed at the break, should have put McManus on that side from the beginning IMO. Mannering played one of his best games in years which didn't help.
