How do we not have a backup kicker, especially when its clear the game plan was to take our first choice one off?

Brisbane played really well, too. Our completion rate was 91% tonight. I didn't think we were bad, just missed a few goals and still can't close a game under pressure.

Let's be realistic, Roberts is not a first string goal-kicker to begin with. He rarely hits them from out wide and I've seen him scuff some absolute sitters from farther in field.

The refs didn't blow any penalties tonight, which didn't really suit us either given our lack of ability in the ruck. It was pretty much anything goes.

Seriously, is it that hard to kick a field goal?

Just before halftime in golden point, we were in front of the posts, Mullen was set and the ball didn't go to him? Also, why in God's name (unless he was injured which I don't think he was) did Roberts get hauled off the field?

For a team that had a short turnaround, and was fatigued early on (even according to Bennett) we really stuck it to them towards the end. We showed some courage.
Mullen is obviously carrying a calf injury. He showed real courage and commitment.

On the opposite side of being negative: Sharks win and we hold the 8th spot. Warriors win and we are only 1 pt away from it. That might even give us more incentive against the Sharks.

Watching the last few weeks, Gower looks dangerous. He goes to the line with options in his mind and tries to put people into holes etc but the rest of the team look a step behind. He gets to the line and needs to get the ball away but the rest of the team is 5 metres behind him. The whole team looks like they are waiting for the set plays and not backing up the player with the ball every time we go up. Something we need to work on.

That Golden Point display was pretty embarrassing really. Dumb option after dumb option. Can't believe we didn't try to kick a field goal on the 2nd - 4th tackle when we had a set on their line...

I think that Tweet should have read:
get McManus and Snowden back next week. Gidley and McKinnon getting close

intead of "get McManus and McKinnon back next week. Gidley and McKinnon getting close"

Unless we beat Sharks or Storm, I might start looking towards 2014.

My entire bay was calling for Mullo to dummy and run. Each time they were in his face, all he had to do was step and he would have been in the clear, especially when we had the scrum and they charged it down. He was lethal when he attacked the line all night and when it would have won us the game, he went for the one point. I assume he didn't watch Dragons and Souths. It's amazing what happens when the defense rushes you and you create an opportunity.

And poor Tyrone. My seat is behind the bench and for the most part of Golden Point, he had his head down. Pretty sure he would have converted Scott's.

Cuthbertson was monumental. No way Houston could possibly be in front of him if we ever get back to full strength.
