Darius shines in big games. I think tomorrow we will see a top draw performance. He is very Hayne like. His impact is quality rather than excessive.

The Newcastle Knights have lost Neville Costigan for Sunday's Round 23 match against the Melbourne Storm at Hunter Stadium.

Costigan was unable to take part in the final training session on Saturday at Balance Mayfield due to a knee injury and coach Wayne Bennett has brought in Korbin Sims to replace him.

Craig Gower, who was named 18th man, is also ruled out due to a shoulder injury while there is some doubt over Jeremy Smith, who has injured his ribs, however the coach will give him until Sunday.

Stay tuned on Sunday for all the LATE MAIL, published one hour before kick off.

A reminder gates open at 12.30pm for NYC's 12.45pm kick off at Hunter Stadium. The Club will celebrate Danny Buderus' milestone game. The first 15,000 through the gates get a Danny Buderus souvenir poster as well as a presentation at approximately 2.20pm.

As you get ready for Sunday's game, watch this wonderful footage as Danny Buderus takes you behind the scenes of his milestone game.

No Scott, no Smith and no Mason would make this a very difficult game to win. Whatever people may think about Costigan, they can't criticise the aggression he brings to our pack. So that would be another blow. Thankfully Houston and Rochow are finding some form and of course there is Snowden. Fingers crossed Scott and Smith will be right to play otherwise we are in a lot of trouble..

Smith's not out as yet. Got an issue with his ribs apparently, but they're giving him until the last minute. Don't be surprised if Scott plays.

Not just the injuries but the articles re the club, former and current players, PED's and ASADA are likely to be a big distraction for some. Would be a monumental achievement to get the 2 points today.

I hope they don't get too distracted with the drug accusations. We of all clubs should know how to handle ourselves in this situation. Lord knows we've seen it enough.

We'll miss Smith's aggression, but at least he won't be giving away stupid penalties like last week.

Korbin Sims is a plus with costigan ruled out.. Will wait and see how mckinnon goes, I dont think his match fitness would be that good. We could run out of puff in this game, Tetevano is only good for about 10 minutes a game.

Oh and Adam Clydesdale was just taken off on the medicab. Dunno what the injury was, he seemed to be grabbing at his left leg/ankle/foot. Probably his season over

Hope the back 3 are onto those high balls. No doubt Cronk will test hem out. If we lose today I can't see us finishing higher than 7th, meaning no home final. Hopefully we can have a bit of luck and come home with it.

Well let's hope Billy Slater has a clanger. Bedsy got a presentation for his 250th game last week. Will be one of the club's best ever victory if we can pull it off. Just watching the cheergirls strut their stuff. GO KNIGHTS!
