Wishing injury on any player, let alone one of your own, is really really poor form.

It crosses the line and is indeed piss poor

Regardless of your thoughts on a human as a player, you are wishing pain and suffering on someone for perceived personal gain.

Kurt Gidley injury update - he flew back with the team this morning and will have more scans today before we know more.

They were saying something about torn foot ligaments last night. Didn't Kurt have some sort of issue with them partially torn or something earlier in the season?

this thread was really sad to read through
our team played badly in the first half, but we still showed a heck of a lot of character
character we've built over the last few weeks, even through the loses

we just dont know what to do with gidley, and i think being out with injury has just made things worse
becuase he comes back and he wants to make a big impact
and he gets in the way.
what fredrick is saying, and saying REALLY badly is if there was a way to move him on it might help us
but a career ending injury is not something i want for gidley

he is definitely the player that others want to play with
and he isnt a benchi marshall who doesnt give a crap anymore

If he flew back I'm guessing its not a brake anywhere. They get the green (morphine?) whistle to help with the pain, doesn't necessarily mean a broken bone or not, just that it hurts like hell.

On another note, as of right now Panthers over Doggies 12-6. C'mon Panthers, then c'mon Broncs to beat Dogs next week too. Wishful thinking but it'd be nice if we somehow nab 6th spot.

You do realise that without Gidley next year, it will more than likely be Waddell at 9? I know who I'd rather.

The criticism he gets is absolutely ridiculous. He's not a very good half, that much is clear (didn't do much wrong last night, though).He's been doing a pretty solid job at hooker though and was getting better and better there every week, imo. Him being on a high pay packet is the only justifiable excuse to be angry with him and even then that's not really his fault. He had some brilliant seasons back in 08/09 at fullback and has always given his all for the club.

You should appreciate him a bit more than that.

My limited knowledge of tissue/tendon/ligament injuries are usually along the lines of significant pain when trying to mobilize the area. A bone break will have consistent sharp pain, usually relieved by ElephantJuice. (lol at the moderation on the word for legal opiates)

It could be they gave it to him as a precaution. If he heard a snap, it could have been the ligaments, not a bone, but they could administer the morphine as a safe guard. He wasnt sucking on it once on the medicab, so that points to a joint/tendon issue. That will make fred happy as the rehab on one of these is much more than a break.

The other is an absolute imposter of a footballer who has been a large part of the reason why our club has been a laughing stock for the last decade.
