Uate needs time off or a move to the fwd's, ala big Mal or Gene Miles, then we could have kept Kevin. It would get him away from the high ball and let him do what he seems to be good at, carting the ball back, that's the only redeeming feature of his game at present.

Every time he scores from now on, if he doesn't go to ground over the try line he should be fined or beaten heavily lol, no excuse for 2 certain tries this year to be dropped over the line

I think had it not been for Aku's gate taking appeal he would have been asked to go to Japanese rugby. There still every chance the club will reevaluate it in the offseason. With T and Mantelato staying i would have no issue with either starting ahead of him. He has been terrible of late. The dropped ball was under 8s stuff. Embarrassing.

The thing with Aku is he only needs one good game and everyone loves him again but his form has been absolutely embarrassing and it all comes down to confidence. Wayne needs to sit down and really try and toughen him up mentally.

Imagine having Aku on one wing and Vatuvei on the other, you'd just have to cry.

Also, looks like Gidleys done for the game. Hopefully the year. And next year too

Stay classy Fred.

Excruciating game. We have some good signs, but jeez we are a fair way off the pace of the top 4 (just like 11 other teams in this comp)

We should make the finals now, so that is a good feeling. Its a shame we wont have our strongest team on the park, but hopefully we can give a good showing in week 1, and get a game in week 2.

Stay classy Fred.

Care factor = 0. Kurt has stifled this team for far too long, and I will be rejoicing the day he calls it quits, and I honestly don't care whether that's forced by injury or on his own terms

Anonymity is your best friend.

I have huge doubts whether you would say something like this within the earshot of any person associated with the club.

Regardless of your thoughts on a human as a player, you are wishing pain and suffering on someone for perceived personal gain.

People show their true selves when they believe they are protected from any recompense.

This is so very true!

Fred that is rather disrespectful to the best utility in the game. Almost personal. I know Kurt's grandfather very well. Kurt is a lovely bloke as are the family. It is really poor form.

Plenty on here that this applies too

Agreed.

Complaining that someone is soft, shit, no talent, should be dropped etc is a completely different ballpark to wishing injury on a player though.

Arm chair heroes who found a keyboard are accepted, even embraced, as they create and add to discussion. What Fred did shouldnt be compared to your regular RL fan.

Gidley has had a rough time with injury over the last 2 years.
he is a player that can make or break us. He just tries too hard at times. He is very much a "freestyle" player who has issues when he has the responsibility of playing in a set position that has certain requirements that conflict with what his instinct tells him to do. That, or when he just tries too hard at times and it doesn't work is what can lead to errors.
We have, however, seen him settle into positional play at times and I reckon he can do it. He hasn't had much opportunity to do that over the last 2 years because of injury.

I'm not going to compare him to David Campese but there are similarities between them. Campese could stuff it up or could make the win.

I hope Gidley recovers and spends more time at 9. I think that is where he can fit in. I won't be disappointed if he goes OS or throws in the towel.

If we hadn't had Gidley out there yesterday we wouldn't have had a try at a crucial time of the game that swung it our way. Plenty of other players out there yesterday made mistakes that didn't help us.

Well I still want to know what's with Darius Boyd? Starts the season off patchy the gets picked for Queensland purely on reputation and then has blinders when in the maroon. I always shake my head and ask "Why can't he play like that when he's wearing red and blue?"

Since Boyd arrived I have agreed #9 is the best spot for him. However, he has shown time and time again that even his service is pretty damn poor. It's not just one bad pass. His service consistently sucks.

You guys made me sick with what you said about Kurt after his injury!! Grow the f**k up the lot of you!! You dont say completely such shit about a player who gives his absolute all for the team he loves for the amount of years that he has put in and put his body through!!!

I understand passion for you team guys but you don't keep stabbing a guy in the back after a horrible injury and getting us back in the game!!

+1 , never a more true Knight than KG , a guy that gives 100% every time he takes the field , has the heart of a Lion. Any teams is poorer without having him in the side. Bennett is a winner and if he thought the team would be better off without him he wouldn't select him.

I was at the game. Gids is frustrating to watch shits me to tear almost every time he gets involved. He's not the player he was and I still don't understand why we persist with him.

However, I felt sorry for him tonight that was pretty sickening to see the bloke in that much pain. He loves the club and it must be devastating for him. It was weird the place went silent watching the replay.

I wish the chick sitting behind me went silent. All night (well the 2nd half) she was yelling and abusing the refs with many obscenities. Than when Kurt went down she was screaming for him to "get up ya effen pussy". Really wanted to give her a mouthful.

So happy we came back to win and play well in that 2nd half. I was really down after the 1st after how bad we played. Key thing is for us to get that consistency for 80mins. Strange how our defence can be so on top for the most part, then have our line broken so easily. The good sides don't let you come back from 14-0 down.

Hopefully Gower will be right to play again. With Gids gone we need that extra half/hooker on the bench (be it Gower or Tyrone).

Wishing injury on any player, let alone one of your own, is really really poor form.
