You guys made me sick with what you said about Kurt after his injury!! Grow the f**k up the lot of you!! You dont say completely such shit about a player who gives his absolute all for the team he loves for the amount of years that he has put in and put his body through!!!

I understand passion for you team guys but you don't keep stabbing a guy in the back after a horrible injury and getting us back in the game!!

This. It's no secret that i'm certainly not Gidley's biggest fan but the way some people were carrying on was disgusting.

I was at the game. Gids is frustrating to watch shits me to tear almost every time he gets involved. He's not the player he was and I still don't understand why we persist with him.

However, I felt sorry for him tonight that was pretty sickening to see the bloke in that much pain. He loves the club and it must be devastating for him. It was weird the place went silent watching the replay.

No one denies Gidley tries, effort doesn't justify getting paid half a million to f**k up 75% of the time. (75% is been very generous)

Mullen was our best player in 2009 Rod, by a long shot. Not Gidley. 2008 yes he was very good for half the season. 2007 - well yeh he was the best player of a terrible side. He had a very good 18 months - and it's all you Gidley lovers have to defend him with because he's been absolute junk for the other 10 years of his first grade career.

Steve Simpson got a tap on the shoulder when he couldn't catch a ball anymore and i thought it was a tap 12 months overdue, and i was his biggest fan. Gidley's due one me thinks.

Is anyone really a Gidley lover? I think most would agree with your summary on most of his career and the value he provides. He was never worth the dollars he was given last contract.

I think he signed till 2015.

Doh.

Oh well, best of luck on the recovery Gids, you're still a champion bloke.

He really belongs at centre or fullback, he really shouldn't continue to be played at half or hooker.

2009 Gidley was leading the Dally M's until halfway into the season, as a result he was made Origin fullback and captain. Obviously he fell away towards the end of the year as did the team as a whole but still had a very good year. Mullen was strong that year agreed as was De Gois who probably had the best year of his career. But Gidley was still our number 1 player and by that stage had been since 07.

It's not about being a Gidley defender or a Gidley hater, it's just recognising that at one time he was a very good player for us, our best player, and it wasn't for just a 6-8 week period either, but several years (probably no coincidence that this was all played at fullback as well).

I won't go down the 'tries his guts out' route (although it's obviously true) because it's something that annoys me most about the Mitchell Pearce defenders.

Fullback is his best position IMO. He's capable of playing like a third halve when spreading it through the backs. Always did what Boyd done tonight.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if he closes the book off the back of the injury. If the initial injury kept him out for so long, I'm going to assume off the amount of pain he was in, it will be tougher to recover from.

He is gold at every aspect of the game except the high ball, and sometimes overlaps.

If I was the opposition of the Knights I'd just bomb the crap out of Uate all game, no exceptions.

He's farked. No more "mentally fragile" references. The bloke has THE worst hands in the NRL. Still hopeless under the high ball and has lost all speed that people talked him up about. Good for carrying the ball back but without a step the defence simply meet him and hammer him. Avid watchers of the game were calling for him to play Origin this year.

A terrible game of league and extremely embarrassing for Brisbane to be beaten by that lot at their home ground. Just how bad are the Broncos circa 2013??? Possibly the worst ever!

Really? Completely disagree. Woefully out of form from what we have come to expect from him over the last few years.

I may be talking about him in best form....

I kind of realised my comments didn't really ring true not long after I posted. XD

the more money we pay him the worse he gets, watching a second rower moonlighting as a winger leave him for dead was sad.

bad luck to gids, dont like seeing anyone get hurt like that.
dont pull out the tiny violins just yet, he's collected $50k a game over the last two years!
