Lots of doom and gloom in here (some of it warranted for sure). Hunts kicking game was the most disappointing thing tonight, he didn’t even try anything different. We got in some decent positions as well. Sloan could’ve been better with the ball on the floor for sure, but f**k me that would’ve been hard trying to get those balls tonight. What’s most disappointing is we didn’t even try that tactic once in our own attack ffs

Once again to me Hunts kicking game never pressures anyone. Just high and deep. No pressure on Ponga yet they pressured us plenty. Those first half kicks along the ground had us stuffed every time yet we never tried it ourselves. Plus once again wingers coming in and leaving the outside undefended. I thought we had a chance tonight but poor choices killed us. Luc and Suli really ran hard but never got the ball in good positions. And Lomax getting dragged out after catching that drop out was unforgivable. Its all these U10 level mistakes that kill us. Its going to be a long season unless someone like Hunt or Flanagan steps up more often
It's not rocket science...... It's always been the best strategy, in the wet, roll the kicks along the ground.

Once it is on the ground in those conditions, it becomes a lottery and you Jag some opportunistic tries. The ball is hard to clean up and you'll get the ball back as the opposition will more than likely stuff it up.
We didn't place not even one kick along the ground. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Newcastle even showed us what to do......but we were too stupid to take the tip.

Agree, the usual culprits made crucial errors.
Lawrie again failed to make good post tackle metres and lost the ball. He doesn’t look fit enough.
Lomax can be brilliant one minute and hopeless the next.
Bird is not a centre and can get found out in defence.
Hunt tries his guys out each week but he is not a playmaker or organiser and has a poor kicking game. I thought Kyle would be kicking more this year but we’re still relying on Hunt just as much last year.
My standouts were Rava, Sua, F Molo and early on Le’lua.
I hope we see some changes this week because this current team is not the answer.

They showed you the sidelines as often as they could and unfortunately, some of your players misjudged their line.

And if my 5 second memory serves, risky passes that were intercepted or shouldn’t have been thrown.

But I’m not saying the team wasn’t having a go, it was just very frustrating to see the sets disintegrate and end in tears.

Wet weather chaos brought a number of challenges for you when you were under pressure.

That's what gets me. Surely if it was working for the Knights, Flanno should have got Hunt and Kyle doing the same. Short dribbling kicks and our guys on the ready to pounce on them.

We are plain dumb and just not able to work out any effective counter attack given that both teams played in these conditions. The Knights knew that by holding onto the ball and minimising mistakes in these conditions they would take full advantage of us, which happened.

Flanno pre game when asked about preparing for the conditions said they just talked about it.

They didn't prepare, even though they knew that it was going to be horrible conditions. No basic preparation of playing with a wet/slippery ball, kicking in a muddy field, practicing their tactics in wet conditions.

We took a dry weather game plan into a wet weather game. Stupid from the coaches & key play makers in the side.

You just know the knights will now go on a roll for a few games now. It’s us, it’s always us who play teams back into form.

I really worry for us now, next 5 games it’s hard to see us winning any of them which will leave us at 2-8 by round 10.

We are getting very close to that dreaded bottom of the ladder. Currently 15th and counting.

Flanno doesn't have the answers I'm afraid to say.

Again, we hit the lead and we squander it just like that after that brilliant pass in field by Lomax to Hunt to score to get us to the lead.

What happens to our guys? Do they think that by being in the lead you just clock off? Bloody hell. Surely the coach can get word out to the players through Hunt to maintain focus and try and do everything right but they can't - too many mistakes as usual and not enough effort. Just not good enough.

Just got home from the game (soaking wet I might add)...was sitting near the goal post ends that we defended in the first half and the Knights continuesly grubbered into the very wet area under the posts....said to my wife thats exactly what we should do in the second half....but did we no no no....and as for Hunt his kicks were most of the time rubbish right down Pongas throat...he did the same in the Dolphins game when he kicked to The Hammer...and I might add in finishing dear Belinda the ref once again allowed the Knights to stand within the 10 and lay all over our blokes just like the Cowgirls
