I'm not so sure how long a fractured thumb would keep him out.
Our next game is 13 days away so hoping he might miss none or 1 games only.
I'm not too disappointed about him missing origin.

Splint it,strap it up well & front up next game!! Simple!!!

If it were finals I think they would. It sounds like it's a more complex break to the one Gagai had a few weeks ago though!

He had it strapped & played on today;no drama--he would have known it was broken---like you,I don't think we can have him off the field for a long period--therefore,fix it,splint it,protect it & PLAY next game; & all the others coming up!!

Maybe he made it worse today mate.... not sure...

I feel out of Dogs, Tigers and Eels we can probs win 2 of those 3 without him! It's the game against the Storm in 4 weeks and 5 days we need him back for @callmack1! That game against the Storm like a win or loss there could be critical to our top 2 hopes. If there is no GI against Storm or Rorters the week after those 2 teams would be expected to beat us without GI imo. We need him back for these big blockbusters!

He played on but was protecting it though.

I'd be very surprised if GI would want to miss games with a bloody broken thumb!!

If we loose to Storm AND Roosters we don’t deserve top 2.

You ever broken a thumb mate?

No---have broken fingers playing cricket--never missed a game due to it though--& that's playing 1st grade equivalent of RL in Sydney in the summer season!! I hope GIs not too bad with it & demands to play!!
GI could catch footy balls in his mouth with his eyes shut--his presence on field is vital !!

Fingers can be strapped for support mate, not so much with thumbs.

Can't really hold onto or throw a football if you can't use your thumb.

If it was a broken finger I'd totally agree with you, but broken thumbs are bit harder.

Gees , I am glad you are not the coach!

We should not play GI until his thumb is 100% , hopefully the 6 weeks out is IT! a good thumb is useful for catching , passing and gripping other players for starters not to mention favouring an injury can lead to other injuries........treat your champions with respect!

If the team cannot manage to win at least half the games during that period without him , then we do not deserve to be in top 2 and won't be.

I think the team can win most of the games if he out for six weeks........we then get him back 100% , refreshed , for the end of seasons game leading into the finals ......perfect!!!!
