Nrl.com is reporting that George Burgess is open to an eventual return to the super league. Should we just sack him now?
Yea I saw that, but no way should we sack him!! Eventual could mean it's friggin years down the track, you never know. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Also Pilot House I'm warning you now, cut the crap because I think everyone is getting sick of it, this is a rumours thread FFS. You raise some very good points when you talk footy so try to keep it that way aye?

I have moved most of the recent crap to the troll cave so that the rest of us can get on with footy talk.

Cheers.

Of course we shouldn’t sack him brother was just taking the piss out of some of the new posters. I think all of the Burgess boys might end up back in the Super League eventually. I would hope by then we have some good young props ready to make their marks. Cough cough Johnstone, Rodwell, Ta’avele, Tatola.

The length of the contract that Souths offered Seibold seems to be the main obstacle in him re-signing with the Rabbitohs.

Was that in the Daily Telegraph?

If so, it’d be true, all contracts & communication between clubs & coaches, allso between clubs & players, must be reported to the editor of the telegraph, this is in the NRL bylaws

Money isnt everything, it’s not like you can (supposedly) spend more on players than anyone else, you can only have so many bells & whistles, sure they have money for recourses, they can probably pay a coach good money
They’re also a publicly listed company where their shareholders expect a return, so all that money that is generated isn’t exactly theirs
I don’t know that coaches want to walk into an already overly successful organisation, where’s the challenge in that?
Time to be real.

Seibs isnt coaching us because of his love of South Sydney.

Thats just complete and utter naivety.

I dont blame him if he goes either. He's a career coach and a bit of a journeyman.

Its perfect for him.

And remember we shafted Maguire when he was on contract.

From nrl.com

"NRL.com understands that Kiwis coach Michael Maguire and South Sydney's Dally M coach of the year Anthony Seibold have already been interviewed with Maroons coach Kevin Walters to be put through his paces on Wednesday and Broncos assistant Jason Demetriou on Thursday."

No wonder there's no news on Rabbitohs extending seibold.

Where did I mention love?
But of course coaches become a part of the team, coaches inevitably become close to their players

The conversation will just go around in circles, none of us truly know what ultimately motivates Seibold, none of us understand his personal situation, is he close to the hierarchy at the Broncos? Has he become close to the hierarchy at Souths? Are his family settled in Sydney, with schools, home etc?
Like a lot of people who have come to Souths, there is a feeling of unfinished business, putting us into a situation so where we’re successful long term, hopefully he sees himself as a part of this

Yep, we sacked Madge, that was really sad, he did absolutely love the club, I think it’s something that has held him back somewhat so far

Seibold may be playing a cat and mouse game to increase his worth and his contract we just need to sit tight i think demitriou will get it in the end,i hope he gets it in the end, if seibs goes we will end up with barrett i prophesise

I doubt he sees himself as that at all. Especially on a 2 year deal.
I think he wants to be a successful coach at a successful club. Thats more guaranteed at the broncos.

As for Madge well the reality is people didnt accept the team's performances so he was on his bike.

That's the ficklety of coaching in the big league.

Fickleness even

You can doubt all you want, I think there’s more to what these blokes do than just the 2ish to be at the biggest club in the land with everything already set up, the way he talks sounds like he enjoys a challenge & making his own agenda
Furthermore, we should see ourselves as equal to the broncos, we sell ourselves far too short, we should believe that the system being put in place will make us expect success on a regular basis, young players will aim to play here, there’s no reason we can’t be just as big as the broncos, in a cluttered corporate market & so many Sydney clubs it makes it hard, but the allure of playing for a big club in Australia’s biggest city, with an elite centre of excellence etc, we should & can be just as attractive as the broncos

Well the fact that he's been interviewed says something else.

lol if you think Souths are the same as the broncos.....who are the biggest corporate club in the NRL by a country mile.

Even the Gold Coast has a centre of excellence ffs....

How do you know he’s been interviewed?

Of course they have a lot of corporate support, they have a whole city to themselves, we have the potential to attract just as much, time will tell

Yeah we know all about the Gold Coast centre of excellence, well, maybe you don’t :joy:
But I’m not disputing most clubs have a “centre of excellence”, however I believe ours will prove to be attractive
