I'd say the be all and end all of bad calls is a try on the 7th tackle hrundi. That was the call of the match my friend. You guys have nothing to complain about.

And I just can't cop this notion of a two man spear tackle. How can you suspend two guys for one tackle?? Did they plan it before the match? Did they miraculously formulate the intent to commit a lifting tackle at exactly the same time?? Surely a lifting tackle is the result of one guys initial lifting (in this case Faumuina).

Also, you can forget about the play the ball penalty and recall that, moments earlier the Warriors were called for a knock on when Francis Meli off-loaded the ball DIRECTLY BACKWARDS.

Yeah but Meli was facing his own try line at the time wasn't he?

It doesn't matter whether they planned it or not.

The result was still a spear tackle, and that's how it should be judged.

No, Meli faced his own goal line and then propelled it directly forwards i.e. backwards. It went in a dead straight line about 2 metres back. I think Lyons actually thought one of the Warriors players knocked it on trying to pick it up, but none of them were anywhere near touching it.

It doesn't matter whether they planned it or not.

The result was still a spear tackle, and that's how it should be judged.

:?
So they should be banned for bad luck/doing nothing?
Surely a spear tackle is where one player deliberately lifts another? And in this case, it was Faumuina who did the lifting. Meli was just standing there holding Monaghan.

Yes, they should be banned for being CARELESS. If we are going to judge a tackle on whether or not it was on purpose or not, well we are going to open a pandora's box aren't we. 90% of head-high tackles are accidents/bad luck.

I disagree entirely. High tackles are the result of recklessness. You swing an arm at head height- what do you think is going to happen? I don't see how that relates to suspending everyone in the vicinity when there's a lifting tackle.

Well now you are just contradicting yourself aren't you. Both Meli and Sione had their hands between his legs - what do you think is going to happen?

Perhaps they were trying to get him on his back but that isn't the point. He was above the horizontal and they are very lucky they didn't hurt him.

No they didn't. Sione had Monaghan around the legs, trying to tip him over. He created the situation, it was quite obvious- Monaghan was standing in the tackle of Meli (and Jones I think) until Faumuina came in and grabbed him by the legs. There wasn't a whole lot Meli could do from there.

I think we will have to agree to disagree here, because it is obvious one of us is not going to sway the other.

Let's see what the judicary has to say about it, shall we.

haha, do you really trust the judiciary? ;-)

Anyway, I can hardly remember the tackle (which I suppose goes to show that it didn't bother me much), I really need to see it again. I just like arguing.

Some of the comments here are ridiculous? If we go by Henry's interpretation then most of the high tackles we see shouldn't cop suspensions because the player didn't mean it? That's what the difference between careless and reckless means. Your opinions really aren't worth tinned sh*t.

I'm not seeing the tackle with one eye. The tackle was disgusting. During the after match report with Laurie Daley and Warren Smith Daley said he was apalled that SeuSeu wasn't sent off for the shot on Davico. The one-eyed reactions are coming from everyone else who were saying "it was just a good hit".

Everyone else is biased, but former Canberra Raider, Laurie Daley isn't?

The look on his face was priceless. He probably thought the game was over 10 from the end too.

Well whaddya know, Canberra fans now believe that everything the judiciary says is gospel.
When did we not believe the judicary would make the right decision? You make no sense.
