Yeo with the shoulder sure, i think that might happen anyway with Huth there. If Dylan isnt carrying anything id play him, if he has another shocker id rather it be this week than next. If he has niggles then sure rest, if not let him either find some form or get the last of his wobbles out this week.
Hmmm Flanju is a bum so maybe it will boost Dyl's confidence.

In the early years of the Panthers existence, the other 11 clubs (barring Parra), used to more than often, complain that it was way to far to travel all the way to Penrith.
It was one of the arguments against Penrith being admitted to the first division of the NSWRL by some established clubs.
And then we were the whipping boys, just making up the numbers, until something happened in 1991.

Now the complaints are deafening...
Rex Mossop loudest of all. When he came to Penrith it was by helicopter.

I'm happy Ivan named a strong team. A pre finals hit out and a confidence boosting win is important heading into the finals rather than just expecting to turn it on in the finals with 2 weeks rest because of our previous years record.

We didn't finish lower than 2nd when we made our 5 straight GF appearances, so this is new territory. Also new for Jenkins, Talagi and Papali'i. This Saturday is a tune up so hopefully they play reasonably well and win well versus a Dragons side that looks cooked but who knows, they might fire up for us in their last game of the season.

I'm pretty sure most Panthers fans were happy for the decision Ivan made last week.

He did make a short statement as well last week saying that the side would ramp up again next week.

So here we are, next week has arrived and we have named pretty much the starting 17. Obviously Bizza and Marto have been carrying niggling injuries since origin so their replacements get to make the statement on their behalf.

Let's dominate this game and put the rest on notice.

Rest Dyl, Yeo and Nathan - Schneider can have a final game for Penrith this week

2 weeks rest will do those boys a world of good

Relatively happy with that. We need a tune up, To’o and Martin are busted. I’ve the game by halftime and get Cleary and Yeo off.

Given the sides others will be running out it looks most likely that Broncs and Sharks both lose for mine. Biggest toss up is the Wahs game for mine. We either get them in a tail spin but have to travel to Auckland or Sharks in their shit hole.

What possible reason could there be for Huth in over Patea? Its hardly a round that requires ducks and drakes in the team list. If resting Yeo is an option being considered then getting Smith or even Papalii more time in the 13 is surely a priority. If there's an injury cloud over Patea you can still have Huth outside the 17 and available. Surely Ivan doesn't think Huth gets into that top 17 on merit. Best I can think of is that Patea needs a rocket and Ivans sending him a message or there's a more serious injury issue with him and Ivan doesn't want to give it away by leaving him out entirely. Strange selection in any event.

Showing my age here… I remember on Rex Mossops Sunday footy show a group of footy experts were giving their tips for the Sunday games. Arthur Beetson was a guest on the show (before he retired) and was asked who would win the Penrith game (can’t remember who we were playing). Beetson went on and on about our opposition praising them to the hilt. he finished by saying “and Penrith, well who cares”? No one bothered to pull him up or offer any other comment. I hated Beetson from that moment on.

He's going to give Huth a GF jersey too
Love your optimism mate. I’m not confident we make it to the GF…I just think our bench doesn’t have the quality to sustain our dominance for the full 80. We lose the arm wrestle when our bench comes on against quality opposition most of the time.

I would prefer our lads stay in Sydney to minimise the travel. So hope the wahs and Brisbane can get it done.

That's why we need to "risk" Patea over Huth
