Edwards could get injured again.

Ivan considering Naden the real back up and Crichton a makeshift while Naden is underdone makes some sense.

Yep he could and depending on the makeup of the side then Staines likely gets a run. Almost certainly makes errors too

I think there’s a much better chance Staines reads the play better than Crichton. Errors are hard to say.

It’s definitely not irrelevant what issues he’s having now, though. Edwards has a long injury history, fullback is a key position, who plays the position if Edwards gets injured at the pointy end of the season could be critical.

Someone 7 games in isn't going to necessarily read the play better given the pace of NRL etc though. Also he is quieter than Crichton so does he talk up to move players

He does and Naden is playing FB in NSW Cup. so he might be better option than either Staines or Crichton

Staines has played more fullback than Crichton. It stands to reason that he'd be as good or better at fullback.

Crichton played Fullback briefly last year. Staines had no pre season or lower grades so would of only done the opposed sessions their if at all depending on Laurie. Also more experienced at reading attack in defence than Crichton.

I think he should have a run there later in the year but it will be far from perfect when he does

Critta has been ok at fb.

He was just never going to kill it straight away like some thought or hoped he would. Its probably the hardest position to play on the field in terms of fitness. I'd say Edwards would easily cover most meters every week for our team and I'd also reckon he is probably working the hardest in the team too in terms of getting any rest etc. He is just always doing stuff, even off the ball.

I knew critta wouldn't be able to do what Edwards does, he just doesn't have the fitness yet. Little things like the crocker no try cone down to fitness imo. If he was fit enough he'd probably have had more of a crack.

I'm sure he will continue to have average moments but will also continue to improve slowly as well.

As for Charlie I'd say he would be similar. He has had a few mistakes under the high ball. I'm sure he's positioning would be fine etc but it would just take time. Can't be expected to just go back there and kill it.

Edwards is one of the most underrated players in the game. A fantastic fb. For the money he is on, compared to teddy, turbo, rts.... we get the best deal in the comp. He'd be on less than half of what teddy is on. Value for money probably the #1 player in the comp.

I'm talking the instinct of playing the position and naturally knowing what to do and when to do it. Staines would be more advanced with that than Cri hton based on their experience long term not just the last 12 months.

Yeah but who is better at reading the NRL defence? ATM is Crichton so there is no Guarantee Staines would entirely be better yet

We won't see it but if Staines got picked for a game at fullback I'd legit make a bet with you he'd have less positional errors than Crichton.

Won 5 in a row, everyone saying we're the best and the team’s unchanged. Boring week for conversation. Couldn't Ivan name Fish at fullback or something to spice things up.

I wanted Leota there before Fish, i get that this is a joke, but Fish could actually play there, he is the apitomy of strength and having a motor

Yeah a team of big motors. If we had no bench there'd be fatigue but we'd handle it well.
