If they're not close enough to the attacker to even touch him why would it be a missed tackle? This is why teams use decoy runners, to create space. That space is what you see when a defender doesn't get close enough to the attacker. If Davey had ignored Fifita's decoy run you would've seen Fifita get the ball and stroll straight through.

If we had that long then we wouldn't have panicked. We take our time with recruitment/retention decisions. We'd rather miss out on a signing than pay too much.
It's simple mathematics. Under a salary cap you need to prioritise your signings and retentions. More important players get more money while less important players get less. It's a fair system.
