I've thought in previous years we just looked like we were waiting for the finals. We simply thought it would just happen.

One of those was a clean miss from Arsey.Pennies scored two tries down Dylbag's edge once he moved to fullback.
And they did it pretty easy.
I'd say the Roosters roster has got us covered to be honest. This would have to be one of the best rosters to miss out on a finals berth in the nrl era.
And that's what is coached... The ability to get one on one v someone is massive. I would have to see it again but I would imagine the work on the inside made that one on oneOne of those was a clean miss from Arsey.
They’ll probably make the finals.I'd say the Roosters roster has got us covered to be honest.
Only one of Souths, Roosters and Cowboys will make the Finals, I suggest all 3 have an overall better roster than us, although some calls are subjective. They’ll probably make the finals.
Souths' culture problem was that they had a squad full of reserve graders from about 1990 until Russell Crowe bought them 16 years later. They've only missed the finals twice in the last ten years. And they won a comp.We all know the culture problem
Bea also coached one of the best rosters ever to a spoon. Another accolade for the SuperCoach. This would have to be one of the best rosters to miss out on a finals berth in the nrl era.
Roosters maybe. I’ve already said how we have a superior spine to the Cowboys and can match their forwards. Souths is debatable. They have one of the best spines in the comp and Cameron Murray but they’ve had to fill the rest of their roster with a lot of plodders since they’re all elite level players.Only one of Souths, Roosters and Cowboys will make the Finals, I suggest all 3 have an overall better roster than us, although some calls are subjective.
Decoy runners making the effort to get there while inside defenders aren't.And that's what is coached... The ability to get one on one v someone is massive. I would have to see it again but I would imagine the work on the inside made that one on one
Shouldn't be in the comp honestly. The crowds just before they were booted was disgraceful then they marched with 10,000 ppl. Where were they when they needed them?Souths' culture problem was that they had a squad full of reserve graders from about 1990 until Russell Crowe bought them 16 years later. All of that is pretty subjective, but it would be hard to say that all three teams don't have better 9s, outside backs, edge forwards, and benches in their Top 17. I'd say they all have more depth too.Roosters maybe. I’ve already said how we have a superior spine to the Cowboys and can match their forwards. Souths is debatable. I’m just going off each teams best 17. I’d agree they all have superior 9s. Roosters and Souths have superior outside backs and I’d say we’re about equal with the Cowboys. Our forwards collectively made the 2nd most metres/post contact metres this season so I’d say we have all those teams covered. Cowboys have a pretty good bench but I’d say ours is pretty decent now as well and easily covers both the Roosters and Souths. All of that is pretty subjective, but it would be hard to say that all three teams don't have better 9s, outside backs, edge forwards, and benches in their Top 17. None of the four teams including us have had decent seasons. Something clearly went a miss with all 4.
Listened to players and BA talk about only needing 1 more win and we make the 8.
That's all good but scraping into the 8 should not be celebrated.
The team has played poorly for the last 6 or so weeks.
The buy back Jake Arthur clause?1 more win would have activated a KPI clause for BA I reckon??
How much part do you think randomness plays in season results? Specifically, how many wins should separate a given team's hypothetical best and worst 2023 season?None of the four teams including us have had decent seasons. Something clearly went a miss with all 4.
I think from an attacking perspective we have the best forwards in the comp, by a fair margin, but defensively they are mid-tier. Our spine is maybe top five. Outside backs are bottom eight at best, maybe bottom four. The salary cap should lead to teams with strengths and weaknesses, and this is the case with Parramatta.I’m just going off each teams best 17. I’d agree they all have superior 9s.
