All of that is pretty subjective, but it would be hard to say that all three teams don't have better 9s, outside backs, edge forwards, and benches in their Top 17. I'd say they all have more depth too.
None of the four teams including us have had decent seasons. Something clearly went a miss with all
I reckon the Dolphins coming in has corrupted and made the draw more uneven. But helped the bottom 8 teams from last year jump up.
Weather it was potluck or design by the NRL.
Most of the top teams from last year i believe were given slightly harder draws based off ladder position last year.
Outside of Covid 2020 - basically since 2007 you have played 9 teams twice and only 6 teams once.
This year the number of teams you only played once jumped to 8. Which is half the competition compared to previously was only 40%.
So you have basically lost 2 extra games you may have got against an easier or harder opponent depending on luck of the draw.
Look at Canberra they got 6 games against the bottom 3 sides (Tigers, Bulldogs, Dragons)
Roosters, Cowboys, & Parra only got 4 games against those same sides.
Those 2 extra games against those sides has basically gifted them a spot in the 8 they dont deserve with there garbage F/A.
This was also the first season since the Wests Tigers were created in 2000 - Parramatta have not had a home game against them - which is one of our biggest drawing home games. Bad luck perhaps no guarantee of a victory but might have helped.
