Remember when expert commentators were saying the Reynolds trade worked out great for both sides? Souths literally shot themselves in the foot by overthinking it.
It's not like they gave Reynolds' money to Ilias though. Letting go of Reynolds would've meant they were able to buy/retain other players, and they did get one game away from the grand final last year. Their worst ROI would be Mitchell. He has missed 37 games in four years.

It was reported that it wasn’t so much a money issue but an issue with the duration of the contract. I understand that would have resulted as the same problem as us where the squad is extremely top heavy (although that’s probably still the case for them even without Reynolds).

Rod Churchill should do the recruitment at South’s, that tub of lard cost them Reynolds. The only time they made the GF was with Taafe at the back. Lol@50uff$!!

Complete opposite seasons for Parra and Souths.

Parra's seasons never got going, but Souths led the comp but fell off a cliff...

Incidentally our greatest win all year, was probably the start of their demise.

However, both had the same result...neither made the Top 8.

We broke souths who would have thought the pounding we gave them at the time would have triggered such a slide.

Reckon if they had there time again they would have let Alex Johnson go a year earlier before Reynolds going off-contract.

It was always going to be easier to replace a winger then a halfback.

It's great to SEE JA do well.
I don't think it happens if stayed here. He also has less pressure and his own role at Manly.

A surprising thing about Karmichael Hunt is despite being a FB for majority of his career.

Justin Hodges was the FB in the 2006 GF Premiership win.

Hunt was dumped to the wing for the GF. He only played wing 3 times in his whole career.

Despite being the FB in the previous finals.

Can't remember why was that one of Bennett's sneaky moves on Bellamy they didn't plan for.
