We watched the game with plenty of friends at my place last night. The joint erupted when Stone scored. We then all had a great time and got smashed on rakija. Woke up with an almighty hangover.

So good to see Dylan Brown play well but when your forwards all go forward it’s hard not to. Lane has been a revelation this season. I reckon he’s a smoky for origin if he keeps going like this.

Gutherson has also been fantastic for us so far. Is there a more energetic fullback that leaves nothing in the tank, week in week out? I don’t think so.

How good is it to beat those merkins down there? I hate them and their grubby tactics. Bellamy has been like the antichrist with this game and how it’s now played. Just a relentless grub with his tactics and carry on.

Happy Stone got redemption after last week. His try to win the game shows what is needed to win the comp. Never give up.

What was disappointing was he was the only Eel chasing the kick.

Also, I still can't believe that we didn't attempt a field goal when up by 6 with 5 minutes remaining. Was is a lack of leadership, lack of game awareness or just dumb play from Mahoney?
Think the commentators mentioned Moses was screaming for the ball to kick a fg. Seems like a brain explosion from Reed.

Do non playing players usually catch a different flight home? Both Cartwright and Emu Greg were on my 10am flight but no one else from the eels were on it.

Maybe BA opted to take young Jacob and Matthew with the team and he left the other two Out.

Roosters form is down but they still have a better squad than we do.
I would say that’s debatable. Their best backline players in Tedesco and Manu are better than ours but I’d say our starting forwards are superior. I’d give the edge to Moses and Mahoney over their halfback and hooker as well. Don’t forget they’ve lost a lot of experience in the Morris bros, Friend and Liu.

Dont think it was gas, it was attitude ... Moses, BA and Gutho all wrapped Stone after the game saying its how he trains, never stops, does the extras ... a bit like hindmarsh built his game on never giving up on a play
Players with a never-say-die attitude like Stone and Gutho, Hindy (and then we go back) Ray Price and Paul Taylor are so important to a team.

<rant> Personally I find it sad that Hindy was (and still is) ridiculed here and in other parts. Heart of a lion. </rant>

It's quiet around here after a win.

Wtigers merkins are our doppelgangers.

Genuine question do you feel Hindy's legacy as a never say die player is tarnished a touch but lost it lusture because of the comedy role he plays on Fox where he gets the piss talen out of him.

Most young kids growing up who never saw him play only see him called a flopper and a player who never won a comp on TV these days.

Definitely. Same thing happened with Paul Langmack.

It's possible, however he only retired 10 years ago, so you would need to be literally early 20's not to have seen him play.

We got the spoon that year, however 45,000 of us turned up to ANZ to say thanks.
