A Munster kick that could have easily darted across the side line, produced the perfect bounce for Meaney.

Followed by a kick that found the goal post, that produced the perfect bounce.
The main difference is that Munster's try assist was deliberate. He showed great vision to see the opportunity. He doesn't just have speed and power, and the technical skill to throw the last pass in a shift play, but he can recognise opportunities and consistently make the right decision. He is very creative. Also has some utility value, as proven by his record at fullback.

Why so negative all the time??? Scapegoats all over the place!! Can’t you just enjoy a win???
Scapegoat would mean I don't rate him, and was blaming him for an outcome. I think he's awesome, and don't blame him for anything. His vision and decision making will improve. Back when merkins were putting shit on his lack of LBAs I was the one saying he still had a lot of improvement in him.

It's speculation that a rookie on the bench would have made a win easier. I don’t get the angst. We had Jnr, Reg, Lane, Papa and Brown all with gas left in the tank. Which begs the question, who should have been taken off and when ?
Something too many merkins don't realise is that two on the bench would be enough for most teams to manage their fatigue during a game, and a three man bench would be enough for the rest. We currently have a four man bench because that's the rules. Coaches have to pick 17 no matter how many first graders they have available that week. So that extra redundant spot (or two) are for injury cover and getting some minutes into a deserving improver if the game (i.e. scoreline) allows.

Merkins also need to realise that RCG and Paulo after 50 minutes on the field are still more effective than Wiremu Greig coming off the bench with zero fatigue.

Lol we were dropping off tackles.
We were gassed. Mahoney, Lane, RCG and Papalii were dropping off. Maybe we watched different games
They were missing tackles in the first five minutes ffs! It wasn't a fatigue problem, it was a mobility problem. Not a problem Greig would've fixed.

No one said it isn't a good tactic, Hindy was just pointing out that being able to bamboozle and prise open a strong defensive structure with ball in hand is the mark of a team that have mastered their offensive abilities more so then the lottery that kicks can be even when you have great kickers in the team.

Our ineptness with the ball in hand when in the red zone surely troubles even you? You can't be that blinkered, can you? And don't give me stats on this one, this is more then just stats. They can only tell a partial story. Observation is crucial here and the calibre of defenses and what we did with the ball.

Not all that hard to understand is it mate.
The teams that pass the best have players who are the best at it. They also have dangerous runners who can make defenders overreact, plus hard workers in their pack who can make those essential decoy and support runs. As always, it's about personnel. The types of players we're letting go and the ones we are targeting tell me we are looking to get better at exploiting defensive weaknesses rather than just playing percentages like we are now. But what we're currently doing is what's best for our current squad. If we want to do things differently we need to change some personnel.

And merkins will still say our attack is the problem.

well I'm a merkin and it is

apart from Blake smashing Joe Dirt most of our points come from Moses kicks, and Stone will never score two more arsey tries like that if he played till he was 50

a couple of weeks in a row now where we have had repeat sets on their line and all we try to do is barge over, no set plays, no variation

without Moses' boot, I just can't see where our points are coming from

we obviously focused on our defense this week and it was a huge improvement over the first 2 rounds so that's a positive, but we have to do much more in attack in my humble opinion if we want to be top 4 team again

If not him some other kick chaser. It's not like the players don't train to set up for a kick and to chase it well. It's not f**king accidental.

These plays are to set up the kick. To get every merkin in the right position to maximise the kick's effectiveness.

Without Moses' boot we would focus on our other attacking strength - big merkins offloading. In that case we would be less focused on getting our halfback and chasers into position for a kick on the last and would be able to commit more players to supporting an offloader out wide. The point is what you do on the fourth tackle determines your fifth tackle options. We have made our decision based on the players available. Without Moses' kicking game we would choose different tactics on the fourth. And don't forget we have scored seven tries not from kicks this year. This from a team that is actively trying to maximise attacking kick outcomes.

Penrith better.

They are the bench mark ram. Some of the juniors they've produced in the last 5yrs. I dont recall this in the history of League. This Tago kid is special. Young May looks good to. What a club. We should be similar. One can only dream.

Sounds like your not giving the opposition enough credit and instead bagging your own team. Sounds like looser talk if ask me.

Agree. We had 2 tries off bombs and one in Golden Point off a freak field goal hitting upright. But at sametime the field goal could of went thru and we won that way.

Do non playing players usually catch a different flight home? Both Cartwright and Emu Greg were on my 10am flight but no one else from the eels were on it.
